Back Home!

For those which are regular visitors to the blog (you know who you are), you may have noticed that there has been kind of a news halt over this last week as Otis & James had a quick trip to the Twin Cities for a wedding/concert duo (regular readers may have noticed the U2 post as well.)

Well, we are back, back down to earth, are ready to put our noses to the grindstone (what does that mean?) and now we are going to begin the day of a million blog posts. This will be a veritable catch up day (it seems to me that in grade school we would occasionally have these same days, but they would be called Ketchup Days – clever indeed) of sorts is going to be had. So sit back, strap yourselves in and enjoy this Day of 1 Million Posts, or simply, DO1MP.

***BREAKING NEWS*** OTIS & JAMES MEET U2

MINNEAPOLIS

Lifelong U2 fan Otis and his trusty partner/newer U2 fan James had the pleasure of meeting U2 outside the Target Center this afternoon. They, along with a couple hundered other people were greeted by the band, which were gracious enough to come out and spend some time meeting & greeting before their soundcheck for their concert this evening.

At first, it seemed as if Otis & James would be stuck far far away from the band when they came out of the loading dock door, but through a miraculous series of crowd movements and miracles from the security staff, they found themselves right in front of the barricade that had been set up.

As it became clear that this would be the once in a lifetime chance to actually meet the band (everyone except for Larry, that is) – the photographic duo searched for something to have them sign. A light bulb went off in the head of Otis, as he realized that he had his trusted iBook. What better surface to deface with a black Sharpie than that of the elegant white expanse of this machine.

The first band member to approach was Edge. James presented the laptop and asked him to sign. There was a moment of hesitation as he asked if we were sure that we wanted him to do this to our trusted iBook. He may have looked at us like we were crazy, but he graciously obliged our wish.

Otis was truly stunned. Could this really be? Could the guitarist that he has idolized since junior high actually be standing a foot away signing his laptop? Inded he was, and next up was Bono.

From here on out, it just really became more and more ridiculous, as Bono and then
Adam signed the laptop. Seriously, truly wild. Bono wrote ‘Eat the Apples, Watch the Pips.’

Really, enough of this jibberish, as Otis must be leaving for the show. Thanks for reading, and feel free to stop by and see the U2 signature edition iBook (with their real signatures!) at the studio, and hear the rest of the story – because it is probably the coolest thing that has ever happened to old Otis. So, on with the pics – Enjoy!!!!

Josh in the Evening

We concluded our day with a visit from Josh! We got right down to business, and rocked it up at a breakneck pace. Josh was into it, was open to anything, and was easy to please (the perfect storm of good combinations.)

Josh was great to work with – again we thank him for his hard work, and will just stop all of this jibberish nonsense and get on with the pics – Enjoy!

Trenton in the Morning

Trenton was kind enough to roll on up to the studio this morning and submit himself to all sorts of photographic cruelties that we had been saving up. I kid. It wasn’t that cruel, in fact, I think it went pretty gosh darned good (as Jamie would say ‘Oh jeez – wasn’t that neat!)

We motored around in our rolling train-wreck of a car, and got all sorts of goodies along the way. We thank Trent for all of his hard work, and to express our thanks we should look at some pics – Enjoy!

Casey!

We had a long distance group of visitors stop by the studio this evening – Casey, Chelsey, & Jim came from far and wide to be with us (well, Casey came for us, Chelsey & Jim were there for Casey.) I managed to get most everyone wacked out on caffine, and in return we got some beautiful photographs with the lovely and friendly Casey!

Once again, due to the weather we weren’t able to complete the entire shoot, but we still managed to get quite a bit done – but be sure to keep your eyeballs peeled waiting for the conclusion. Again, thank you to the happy trio for being so good, and we couldn’t have asked for a better subject to photograph, and the proof follows – Enjoy!

Anthony the Patient

A big thanks to Anthony, as he patiently awaited arrival of his faithful photographers. He even managed to gain entry into the outer realm of the inner lair of Otis & James (he’ll know what that means), and he still couldn’t get us. We finally met up, and we let the photographic fun begin.

Anthony brought some weaponry into the studio, and the fun commenced! He amazed us with his agility, and with how easy and fun he was to work with. Due to the stinky weather, we’ll be concluding the shoot (photographic shoot, not weapons) in just a few days, so keep your eyes wide open to see the stunning conclusion. So for now – Enjoy!

Slidin’ With Jenna

Sometimes, if you’re a true professional photographer, you may find yourself getting a dirty look from a train conductor, and then falling, slipping and sliding down a hill on your gluteus maximus while your client and partner look on with an overwhelming sense of shock at what is happening.

You may also find yourself with the same client in the drive through at McDonald’s trying to conserve gas by shutting off your car – and not because of rising gas prices, but because you may run out and you don’t want to stall and then ask your client to help push the car through the drive through lane.

And yet sometimes, not only will all of this be true, but you may also find yourself working with a client that rocks so tough that taking their photographs is about as easy as it could ever be – and that’s just what happened tonight with the lovely Jenna!

We had a great time working with our old friend, and the photo-graphs are righteous. But enough of all of these things and what not, and on with the pics – Enjoy!

LJ

Little Jessie (LJ to his friends) swung on down by the studio this afternoon (with a little assistance on stroller from long-time blog reader/poster Reba), and gave us a good show! I don’t know what it is about Otis & James and the children, but they were all rockin’ this fine day.

Special thanks to Mom for all of her assistance and for crossing the windy bridge for us, but enough of all this crazy talk, and let’s see the pics – Enjoy!

My Main Man Blake!

This handsome young gentleman strolled into our studio this morning on the occasion of getting some sweet one-year snaps! He is a natural at this – a total pro. All we did was turn the cameras on, and he pretty much was the artistic director for the shoot.

He even brought along a talented and lovely assistant (Mom), that helped make this shoot super-sweet. Not only did he bring out all of his best studio moves, but he also gave us a show on the jungle gym, and showed off his sweet moves on the slide!

Congrats to Blake on the big 1 – and here’s some pics from the morn – Enjoy!

Wade, A Different Wade

Two Wade’s in two days is wild – totally wild. I’ll tell you what else is totally wild (that’s a really really bad segue), what’s wild is working with Wade tonight!

He came to the studio, and brought with him thundering drumming, total thundersticks. I think that that may be his nickname – thundersticks. If not, I apologize, but it really should be. He rattled the rafters, and showed that our studio has some sweet acoustics goin’ on. We had a great time working – lots of laughs and a totally great attitude made the shoot sweet!

So, enought of my jibber and or jabber, and on with the phot-oh-zzzzz – Enjoy!
