Minot Fashion Week Fashion Show! Get Your Tickets Now!

Minot Fashion Week 2009

Otis & James Photography is happy to announce that our studio will be the location of the 2nd annual Minot Fashion Week Fashion Show!

It’s a week to celebrate the incredible amount of local talent that exists in our wonderful community, and it all cumulates in a spectacular runway show which will be held at our studio on Saturday September 19th!  Think of it as a Minot version of Project Runway, except that all of the designers get along, and all proceeds from this event go to an incredibly worthwhile cause!

And that’s where you come into the picture!  You may be sitting there thinking, ‘Well, what can I do?’ – and the answer is…get yourself a ticket and be a part of this awesome event!  Our studio is going to be set-up in a runway show configuration, and it’s gonna be cool.  Real cool.  And you don’t want to be left out of anything cool now, do you?  Think of it as a Minot version of Project Runway, except that all proceeds from this event go to an incredibly worthwhile cause – The Florence Anderson Center of Hope Minot Y.W.C.A. Shelter!  What is this, you ask?  Well…

Mission of the Florence Anderson Center of Hope:
The mission of this shelter is to assist homeless women and children with emergency shelter, in northwest North Dakota, who do not meet the criteria for shelter with Domestic Violence Safe Home. On an average the families stay at the shelter for 50 nights with some staying longer.

It is only a ten bed facility but have been over capacity since January with an average of 15 people per night. This is an emergency shelter not a transitional facility. Services provided are centered on an individual case plan for each woman receiving shelter with the end result achieving sustainable employment and permanent housing.

Services are provided through case management, group support, referrals for training, and shelter staff support on site. As a part of transition for shelter to permanent housing, case management services can continue up to 18 months to promote skills that will ensure sustainability.

The YWCA not only provides a place for these women to sleep but also provides food, clothing, and personal items. Above all they can maintain their dignity, self-worth and have the opportunity to become independent again. We also assist them in locating jobs which allows them time to save money and to locate a permanent place to live. When the time comes for them to move to their own place, we assist them in setting up the apartment with furniture and necessary household items.

This event is open to all ages. The doors open at 6:00PM for a social hour with a cash bar (gotta be 21 to get served…but you knew that) and the show will start at 7PM.

Afterward, there will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and a silent auction.

Tickets are available for purchase at our studio – please call 701.838.6181 for additional ticket information.

Tickets will go quickly – don’t miss out!
