Gone Fishin’

We really haven’t been fishing – to those that know me (Otis), the thought of being a ‘fisherperson’ doesn’t really come to mind when thinking of adjectives. We did, however, manage to make it to the Family of James Lake in beautiful Bottineau.

We didn’t bring the camera (of course, the photographers wouldn’t bring the camera – it would make too much sense). In lieu of photographs, I have fashioned a representation of my experience over the weekend. I hope you enjoy it.

In other news, over the next couple of days, we will be adding some new photo’s to the galleries on the site, so keep a look out for the new arrivals.

We hope that the holiday weekend was fun for all, and that we’re all ready for the big summer! We’ve got some fun things planned for Otis & James, we’ll keep everyone abreast in the Blog of new things and anything else in the blog as we move into the summer season. If I was more creative, I would come up with a catchy slogan that would tie Otis & James into the summer of fun, but it seems to me that it would sound too much like a summer storyline on Days of Our Lives, which is why I won’t tie the two together.

Talk to all you soon!

Duane & Gina

It was mad windy today – and if I’m actually using the phrase ‘mad windy’, it truly must have been. The breeze didn’t bother Duane & Gina – they handled it with complete ease and class. It was a lovely ceremony, and we were happy to be a part of it. We’ve had fun working with the newlyweds over the past few months, and wish them a sincere congratulations!

Here’s a few samples of the day (in the solo shot of Gina – she survives the faces that were being made at her miraculously well!)

Enjoy –

…And They Shall Be Married

After numerous false starts, we finally had the pleasure of meeting Rick & Terri for their engagement photographs last night. We were able to dodge the rain, and got some good shots (as I was saying last night, “I am so freakin’ good.”)

We’re excited to work with them again this coming summer (now that God let us know that it is OK to proceed).

Enjoy!

Bill & Micky

The weekend of weddings continued with Bill & Micky today. The day began with the quest for gloves, but soon all was found and we were off! Another big thanks to the new Bride & Groom for a great day, as well as for our work together for the past few months. Here’s some more samples of the day – Enjoy!

Shawn & Kausha

Friday the 13th was a great day for a wedding – we even got the sun to shine when we needed it! Here’s just a sample of the fun that was had by all. Thank you to the Bride & Groom for a great day, as well as for the fun we’ve had for the past few months leading up to the big day.

Enjoy!

Jazz Hands!

Today, Otis & James kind of unofficially used our new ‘Satellite Studio’ as we are calling it. Perhaps we went in a little early (a good indicator would be that we were sticking to the still not fully dried floor paint), but we managed to figure it out after getting off to a rocky start.

We will be posting more info on our new space as we get all the kinks worked out. Just to let you know, we will still have our business offices at the good ol’ Union National Annex, it’s just that we’ve added additional studio space just a hop, skip and about 10 jumps away.

Enjoy!

Sometimes the Snow Comes Down in…May?

Jamie had the pleasure of photographing the family Hoffman this afternoon. She informs me that, for the most part, fun was had by all! They did a great job with the falling temperatures and the increasing wind speed (click here for the forecast – snow??). Weather withstanding, we got some great shots.

Enjoy!

Happy Mother’s Day!

From the files of the truly odd, our Mother’s Day experiences have so far been a strange one. It started at 8AM at a local restaurant, we were to meet the parents of Otis for breakfast. Shortly after we arrived, we found ourselves in an episode of COPS, as four of Minot’s Finest were joined by a Ward County Sherrif in the apprehension of a fellow early morning diner. After some tense moments in the restaurant, the incident ended peacefully, and the man was escorted out (albeit in handcuffs).

On our way home, we came upon this scene –

Even though we had a great time at breakfast, I’m willing to guess that there are at least two people in the town that had a pretty crappy start to the day. Well, whether your in jail, or swimming from your car, or sitting in the comfort of your home, Happy Mother’s Day (especially to Erma & Bonnie)!

Coudn’t really decide on the title of the post. So it’s buffet style, just help yourself to as much of whatever it is you want. These photographs are from the Minot State University Division of Music Opera Scenes class peformance of The Magic Flute.*

It was stunning, beautiful, lovely, and our very own Jamie was in it! Here are a couple of photos – Enjoy!
