In case you, my good people of Blog, haven’t realized this already, I’m just a little bit on the different side. Now, I’m not saying this an a ‘Dude…I am so different, and…like…I’m crazy…and I’m so cool and you’re so lucky to know me’ sort of way, I’m just stating fact. Different is good, I have always held this and the pursuit of happiness (the pursuit is the best part, nobody knows what to do when you actually get there) to be self-evident, or something like that. Which brings me to right now. I don’t know what that meant, but I’m going to move now to the next paragraph.
To illustrate this claim, I shall tell you a story about a young otis. We will have to travel very very far in the WayBack Machine (totally have it out of the shop, unlike a certain pickup truck named ‘BRAH’, but that’s a totally different story) for this one, all the way to the mid-late 80’s. Young otis, you see, loved his Ramsey County Public Library. He also loved him some David Letterman. Couldn’t get enough of him. Old Otis, during this time, was about 12, maybe 13 years old. So for fun, ol’ otis would go to the library and research stuff.
He would have his Daddy-o or his GrandMaMa drop him off, and the adventure would begin. Otis would go through his magazine reference books, would dig through his microfiche, until he found out everything about his selected subject that he possibly could. And, one time, his area of study was none other than Dave Letterman. This was back in the day, when Dave was still at NBC after Carson, which was too late for otis to stay awake for, so he would set his BetaMax to record and watch them when he came home from school. After a few months, after all the articles had been read, otis would close the book on that subject, and move onto the next. And that, my dear People of Blog, concludes this visit to my past.
What does this have to do with anything, you may be asking yourself? Nothing. I just was taking a look at these supersweet pictosnaps we had the good pleasure of taking not quite all that long ago, and noticed that the name, and my mind wandered, and I shared it with you. MuchLove & ManyThanks to Dave for giving us some of his time, and to my good people of blog, I tell you to celebrate your individuality, and – Enjoy!
