The New Office!!

Greetings from Otis & James – it’s been a while, but we’ve been busy working on and moving into our new office and studio! We thought that we’d post some pics of the new digs. It has taken much work to get it to this point (most notably on the terazzo floors – check out that shine!), but it has all been worth it. It’s a really cool space, with tons of character. Our last office was great, and wouldn’t have been possible without all the help from Tim at Northern Lights Financial Services. We owe him big for helping a young business out!!

We think that our new office will suit all of our needs, and we’ll be posting some more later.

The following photo’s are of the office suite, keep an eye out for studio pics to come later.

Sick on a Sunday

Greetings from the sickbed. It would seem that both the Otis and the James part of the company are fully embroiled in a case of Skerbeditis (or as some would call it, a raging bad flu/cold combo). We apologize to anybody that has tried to contact us over the past couple of days, but we will be back at it with 110% on Monday (or at least 66%).

Until then, we invite you to look at some photo’s taken at the wedding of Travis & Mindy – a great time was had by all!

A special thanks to the Ladies of Champagne

There was going to be another photo here, but the editorial board (consisting of James) vetoed the decsion to include it (it was a photo of her titled ‘Clearly Deranged from the Tussin.’

New Things Coming!

We are currently knees deep in a new phase for Otis & James – during the next couple of weeks we will be completing a move to our new office/studio in an historic building right in our downtown of Minot (but we’ve still got a lot of work to get it ready for human inhabitance).

Keep an eye out for photographs of our new location, and we’ll keep you up to date when we make the big move!

Redesign Done

We’ve finished the new version of the site. If you come across weirdness or anything else like that just let us know. We thinks that it is more fluid than the last version, and I’m sure that this one will be less fluid than the next one.

Weddings – Book Yours Now!

This is Otis checking in, just wanting to drop a message that this summer our weddings are booking at a very rapid rate! There are only so many weekends available, and if you’re still in the market for a wedding photographer based in the North Dakota/Minot region (or even further if need be) – we invite you to contact us ASAP.

We’d love to hear from you and help you with any questions you may have. If you’ve made it this far into the site, you more than likely have already been to our online gallery, but if not click here. If you have already and want more info, call us at 701.838.6181, or e.mail us at info@otisandjames.com. We have a variety of plans available, and specials available – and in case you haven’t seen this before, with all of our packages, our clients retain ownership of all images – not just the photographs, but you own the images!

This is a sweet option, and will truly save you money in the long run.

That’s it for now –

Cats

Our updates continue, and we now have animals. Check out the Life page. It has a cat and a fish. We hope to have the migration to the new site completed by tomorrow (or now later today, I guess). I have a fun game for you – try to figure out which page is the not the updated one. I’ll give you a hint: it rhymes with lontact puss. Hope you can figure this teaser out – best of luck to you. Well, if you figure it out or not, enjoy the page while it lasts, because it will be leaving us soon. It truly is a trainwreck right now as it’s developed a new Halloween motif – you should really see it.

UPDATE: The answer for the mystery page was…Contact Us. Congratulations to Andy from Minot for his correct award winning guess. Good job buddy. In celebration, we’ve replaced the old page with a new one. Train put back on the rails.

Even More Changes!

We’ve pretty much changed every aspect of the site. Gone is the old animated introduction and the homepage that would follow. What we have replaced it with is a rockem-sockem over the head ‘choose your category’ page. We’re trying to make the site easier to navigate, while having it load quicker.

There are still a couple of pages that need to get the update (contact & life), but we hope to have the super-deluxe versions of those up within the next couple of days.

We hope that you like what you see – and if you notice any bad links, or have any problems accessing content, just e.mail us and we’ll fix it right up!

Take care –

Otis

More Changes to the Site

We’ve made some more changes to the site today. There have been some tweaks made to the weddings page – we’ve added some new links at the bottom of the page – with two of them being completely new.

The first new link is wedding information – which as the title suggests contains information about weddings, and the second new link is seniors – which as you’ve probably guessed is about senior portraits, and within this page is a link to senior information – and…you know the drill. Check ’em out. It’s fun.

Over the next few days we’ll be making some more changes to the site that will tie all of this together, so we invite you to come back from time to time to see what’s new.

The Dreamachine…

How is it that I haven’t heard of this before? Finally, a safe way to relive my youth!

Check out the article from the New York Times (registration required – but it’s easy, free, and not that shabby a paper to be a member of).
