And, I think the title & this self-portrait pretty much sums it all up. Â I would love to go on all witty, and eloquent and what not, but instead I think it best to just put this simple title and statement out there in Land of Blog instead. Â To each and every person that we have been lucky enough to meet – and whose pictographs we are now putting up – we give a huuuuuuuuuge MuchLove & ManyThanks for being so incredibly wonderful!
And to you – my good Peeps of Blog – we shall send you a giant digital hug in the form of these blog entries. Â So, sit back, relax, and be sure to – Enjoy!
You may have noticed that there hasn’t been much going on in Land of Blog. Â Yep. Â Like a ghost town around this place. Â But, my dear Friends of Blog, I assure you that life in the Otis & James FunCenter for Fun & Other Stuff That’s Fun has been anything close to quiet. Â In fact, we’ve pretty much been at terminal velocity.
So much so that we’ve had to hang the gone fishin’ sign up in the blog. Â But I’m here today, on this fine morning to tell you that the blog is open for business once again. Â In fact, we’re about to beat you over the head with a bajillion number of blog posts. Â So, enough of all these words. Â Time now to sit back, relax, and take in the wondrous beauty that’s about to hit all y’all over the head. Â To those that have stopped by the FunCenter over the past few weeks – we just need to offer up a huge amount of MuchLove & ManyThanks to one & all for giving us some of their sweet & precious time! Â We love you all – especially you out there reading these words! Â Oh, and don’t forget to – Enjoy!
Because I am. Â And do you want to know why I am? Â Not just because it’s the middle of the night (but that may have something to do with it, seeing as how I’m fully in the vampire schedule), and not just because it’s Tuesday – and everybody knows that Tuesday is the day of the week when rocking the hardest is needed to make it through.
People think that Monday is bad, but you’re usually still so close to the weekend that you may have a little bit of euphoria left over, and you can regale those around you with stories of your adventures over the previous days. Â And Wednesday – well…that’s hump day! Â Thursday – thirsty, and so close you can smell the weekend. Â And our good friend Friday – you don’t even count. Â By that point our minds have already escaped our bodies and we’ve moved on to the weekend again.
So, that’s why I’m ready to rock. Â It’s not because I want to – it’s because I need to. Â I need to in order to survive! Â I need to in order to feel alive! Â And do you – my good, clean, healthy & faithful peep of blog – do you know how I’m going to get the rocking started? Â By some totally kick-butt totally head-banging rocking to the nth degree sample snaps right here on this good ol’ thing that we like to call Blog. Â Blogville. Â The BliggityBlog. Â Whatever.
I feel your pain this Tuesday. Â As you’re reading this, you may have just got your start on the day, but I’m gonna tell you something. Â Strap yourselves in, because we’re about to make this place all crazy with about a billion new blog posts just waiting to get the rock rolling. Â You ready? Â Don’t got time to find out bro. Â I’m just gonna hit you over the head with them.
To each & every person that will be featured in the next 12 or so blog posts, we want to give a huge MuchLove & ManyThanks to for being so totally & completely awesome. Â It is because of you that we are. Â Not gonna lie. Â True story. Â So, from the bottom of our digital hearts we want to give you all digital hugs, and to all our peeps out there in Land of Blog who have just been waiting for new blog pics to go up – Enjoy!
Not to be confused with 3 Non Blondes (that reference will be completely lost on anyone under the age of 30.)
But forget about that sentence. Â What I’m here to tell you is that you are about to be hit over the head with the lovely samplesnaps of three wonderfully lovely ladies – Alexis, Stephanie, Katie & Nora! Â I’m not going to waste any more of your time (and also, there’s an infomercial on about the rotisserie grille that I really want to see), so instead I’m going to just give MuchLove & ManyThanks to these awesome peeps for coming down to FunCenter and allowing us to be a part of their senior year!
I don’t really know where I was going with that last sentence, because I just heard something about the grille being available for only three easy payments of $13.33…that can’t be right. Â Either way, thanks to each one of these ladies, and to my good peeps out there in land of blog in the middle of the night just waiting for new blog posts to go up – Enjoy!
Otis & James Photography is happy to announce that our studio will be the location of the 2nd annual Minot Fashion Week Fashion Show!
It’s a week to celebrate the incredible amount of local talent that exists in our wonderful community, and it all cumulates in a spectacular runway show which will be held at our studio on Saturday September 19th!  Think of it as a Minot version of Project Runway, except that all of the designers get along, and all proceeds from this event go to an incredibly worthwhile cause!
And that’s where you come into the picture! Â You may be sitting there thinking, ‘Well, what can I do?’ – and the answer is…get yourself a ticket and be a part of this awesome event! Â Our studio is going to be set-up in a runway show configuration, and it’s gonna be cool. Â Real cool. Â And you don’t want to be left out of anything cool now, do you? Â Think of it as a Minot version of Project Runway, except that all proceeds from this event go to an incredibly worthwhile cause – The Florence Anderson Center of Hope Minot Y.W.C.A. Shelter! Â What is this, you ask? Â Well…
Mission of the Florence Anderson Center of Hope:
The mission of this shelter is to assist homeless women and children with emergency shelter, in northwest North Dakota, who do not meet the criteria for shelter with Domestic Violence Safe Home. On an average the families stay at the shelter for 50 nights with some staying longer. It is only a ten bed facility but have been over capacity since January with an average of 15 people per night. This is an emergency shelter not a transitional facility. Services provided are centered on an individual case plan for each woman receiving shelter with the end result achieving sustainable employment and permanent housing.
Services are provided through case management, group support, referrals for training, and shelter staff support on site. As a part of transition for shelter to permanent housing, case management services can continue up to 18 months to promote skills that will ensure sustainability.
The YWCA not only provides a place for these women to sleep but also provides food, clothing, and personal items. Above all they can maintain their dignity, self-worth and have the opportunity to become independent again. We also assist them in locating jobs which allows them time to save money and to locate a permanent place to live. When the time comes for them to move to their own place, we assist them in setting up the apartment with furniture and necessary household items.
This event is open to all ages. The doors open at 6:00PM for a social hour with a cash bar (gotta be 21 to get served…but you knew that) and the show will start at 7PM.
Afterward, there will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and a silent auction.
Tickets are available for purchase at our studio – please call 701.838.6181 for additional ticket information.
Tickets will go quickly – don’t miss out!

So, as I sit here in this dark & lonely studio on this early Monday morning (for some of you, it may still be Sunday night – but that’s only the hardcore half-dozen or so that fall into that category), I think to myself, ‘there’s a ton of new bloggers that need to go up on said blog, and we’ve got to label this giant batch (like a batch of cookies, right?) something, so…what do we call it?
Well, seeing as how we’ve already had the ‘Monday Morning Blog Blaster’ (which, in case you never listened to that original bit of audio goodness, I suggest that you go back in time and dig that up. Â It’s pure gold), so we’ve got to come up with something that is a little bit different. Â Which is how we’ve gotten ourselves to, ‘Monday Morning: Â If The Robots Took Over’ edition of the bliggity blog.
I know. Â You’re sitting there right now thinking to yourself that this doesn’t make any sense, but does anything in life really make all that much sense? Â And why would I go and try to put sense to anything? Â We don’t need to make sense, we just need to put up some totally awesome super sweetly picto-snaps, and the rest can be up to you. Â But…the question remains…what if you were to wake up this morning, and the robots had taken over.
Well, I’m here to help you understand what it might be like. Â So travel with me now, as we imagine a place where my sweet voice was instead replaced by…ROBOTS!!!
MuchLove! Â Oh…and – Enjoy!
