Late Night Quick Tease: Allison & John
These two pics really don’t count as the Quick Tease, it’s just that I happened to be going through the wonderful wedding images that we had the pleasure of taking this past Saturday and came across the last two of the night. Â Before we left the reception, I went up on to the dais to get a shot of the dance floor, as the song ‘Unchained Melody’ was playing and everybody loves a slow dance (and it’s a dang good song.)
Anyway, these were the final two images, and they kind of sum up the whole day – absolutely lovely. Â There will be a real quick tease post coming up later, but it’s late, it’s my blog, and I’ll post of I want to. Â MuchLove and – Enjoy!
[audio:unchained.mp3]Quick Teaser: Kimberly & Justin
So…what did we do this weekend? Â Well, we finally had the great honor of being a part of the beautiful wedding of Kimberly & Justin! Â And that made our weekend absolutely perfect! Â Thank you so much to the lovely couple and to everyone that made the day such fun for us – you are all so beautiful! Â But enough of all these words and exclamation points, you should instead just gaze at the lovely quick tease pics above all these silly words – Enjoy!
Quick Teaser: Melissa & Jonathan!
This past weekend the Otis & James Caravan of Love left Minot and headed to a magical place called St. Cloud, in the land of ten-thousand lakes! Â And we weren’t just there to visit The Red Carpet, we were there for the wonderful wedding of Melissa & Jonathan! Â They were the kick-off to our wedding season, and we couldn’t have had any better a start! Â But now is not the time for words, now is the time for a Quick Tease of the festivities! Â So, without any further delay – Enjoy!
Rody & Jen
What the world needs now, is love, sweet love (and Carpenter’s quotes), as well as some distraction from the events of current that have been surrounding our lovely city of Minot – and I can think of no better way to accomplish both of those goals than by looking at the sweetlysweet samplesnaps from the glorious wedding of Rody & Jen!
On a day that wasn’t all that long ago, The Otis & James Caravan of Love put on our flight suits & helmets and departed our Minot bureau for a trip to our capitol city, the one & only bizzybee…B-Town…Biz-Markie…Bismarck! Â The couple was ready, the wedding party was ready, the whole town was ready for this explosion of goodness that was about to occur. Â And I’m here to verify to you, our faithful of blog, that Rody & Jen – as well as their lovely wedding party – brought their A-game to the event. Â They were not joking around. Â They had a mission, and that mission was to take aweome pictographs. Â And then after that to get married. Â And they did both. Â Fantastically!
But enough of all this gibberjabber, now is the time that we should thank this awesome couple for letting us be a part of their wedding day, and now is also the time that we tell all of our lovely peeps out there in Land of Blog to – Enjoy!
Adrienne & Brandon
Before the great floods came, before a world filled with information about cubic feet per second, when our rivers were just the same old rivers they always were, there was this magical time and place – back just a few weeks ago in the glorious first weekend in May, when the Otis & James Caravan of Love & Pictography rolled on out of Minot town and into Bismarck town (B-Town, as the hipsters like to call it.)
And what was this special occasion, you ask? Â Well, I’m just the person to tell you! Â You see, we ventured down to the Capitol city for the lovely wedding of the one & only Adrienne & Brandon! Â It was a wonderful day – not just in regards to the barometric pressure and wind speed (although, they both seemed to be quite nice, but I’m not a meteorologist, I’m just a simple photographer man), it was a wonderful day because this couple made it that way!
It was a zero stress event, and it was also the first one that the one & only Queen James worked with us since she went off and had her lovely child! Â At first, we were nervous about that. Â What if Jamie didn’t know how to work the camera any more? Â What if she could only talk to adults like they were children? Â What if her direction and sense of style moved on from cutting edge to something more along the lines of ‘mom-pants’?
Rest assured, my dear friends, it was clear from the very moment that she slammed her first Red Bull that Queen James was back, and she was ready to destroy that camera. Â And destroy it she did, my dear friends. Â She destroyed it with gorgeous, beautiful images – the kind that have earned her the title of Queen. Â But none of it would have been possible without the hard work of every single person that worked with us during this wonderful event – from the Bride & Groom all the way down to the people at the reception that were ready, willing and able to tear it up on the dance floor.
So, we would now like to give a huuuuuge MuchLove to this wonderful couple for letting us be a part of their wedding day, and we could think of no better way to lead off the 2011 wedding season! Â Oh, and to the rest of you good people out there in Land of Blog that continue fighting the good fight – Enjoy!
Amy & Matt
Up next in our flashback series of wedding posts is a visit back to June of last year – the first weekend, to be exact. Â Now, the only thing that I have ever remembered about the first Saturday in June is that it is always the date for Grand Old Day back in good ol’ Saint Paul, Minnesota. Â But now, I have another reason to remember the first Saturday in June!
And that reason, you might ask? Â That reason is that it was the wedding day of a lovely couple that is called Amy & Matt! Â The Otis & James Caravan of Love loaded on up and headed down to B-Town (that’s Bismarck, for all you squares) so we could join up with their wedding adventure!
As soon as we started taking the sweetlysnaps, we knew it was gonna be a good day, as this wonderful couple and their equally wonderful wedding party was a true joy to work with! Â Looking back on the day now, the thing that sticks out in my head is the delay that occurred while we were all waiting for the limousine to show up.
We waited a real long time – got a lot of really cool pictures of the wedding party during this time too. Â It was a beautiful day out, and the sun was shining. Â After a bit, I sat down on the grass along the side of the church while Jamie was photographing the group. Â Well apparently the sun & the grass felt too good, as I began to struggle to keep my eyes open. Â Just as I was about to enter the blissful place that is a nap in the Sun, I heard the familiar voice of Queen James telling me to wake up. Â Total Buzz Killington. Â She went on to chastise me about how it is not appropriate to fall asleep during a wedding (she was right.)
I suppose I shouldn’t tell that story, because it makes it seem like we (more like I) are a bunch of napping loafs. Â No, that’s not the case – we really did wait a long time for that limo, I just had a moment of weakness (damn you…Sun!) Â As soon as the limo came, I sprang back into action and we all headed to the reception where the good times rolled, I got jacked up on caffeine, and had a most wonderful time! Â The moral of the story: Â If you fall asleep at any point during a wedding, expect Jamie to (deservedly) hand your ass to you on a silver platter.
Well, I’ve rambled on too long – it’s time for us to send MuchLove to every one that was a part of this wondrous day – especially Amy & Matt, and to the rest of you out there in Land of Blog – Enjoy!
Andi & Jason
First in our series of 2010 Wedding Flashbacks is the ever-lovely supercouple known as Andi & Jason! Way back in May of last year, the Otis & James Caravan of Love loaded up and headed out to, if memory serves me correct, just North of the metropolis of Ross, North Dakota.
This wedding was special for many reasons – for one, it was the first wedding that both Otis (that’s me) and James (That’s Jamie) worked together in a long, long, long time! Â It was also special because it was an outdoor wedding that was happening on their family farm.
Now, the thing with outdoor weddings is that you’re always at the mercy of the weather, and this wedding proved that fact. Â But, even though there were some sprinkles (more of a fine mist) the day was gorgeous – the location was stunning, the couple was beautiful, and most important – we got some sweet shots! Â It was a ceremony that I will never forget – and I mean that in the best way possible!
Jamie & I had so much fun working with everyone, and we also found out that even though it is fun to have a crew of people to lug equipment around and run to the convenience store to buy you a Redbull when you are busy shooting, the two of us as a team still know how to rock it up! Â So, we would like to give so MuchLove to everyone that was involved with this wondrous day, and to all of you out there in Land of Blog – Enjoy!
Wedding Flashbacks
Hello there, it’s me – your old friend Otis. Â And I’m here today to tell you about an upcoming series of blog posts we are going to be putting up. Â Now, with a title like ‘Wedding Flashbacks’, I’m sure some of you might be thinking that these posts will be some sort of therapy in which I delve into the corners of my mind to impart the dark & seedy stories that haunt me…from weddings.
But you would be wrong. Â Instead, these posts are going to be flashbacks from last year (you know, that year when we kind of didn’t update the blog for about…oh…a year or so – but we don’t need to talk about that now) – from all of the lovely weddings we had the honor of participating in.
Also, these posts will be a pre-cursor to when we jump back into the swing of the 2011 wedding season – kind of a way to get you all amped up for the goodness that awaits us this summer! Â So, with that out of the way, keep an eye out for these flashbacks (you’ll be able to tell because they will be posted in the category ‘wedding flashback’) and feel free to leave comments, as these couples are all coming up on their one-year anniversaries!
MuchLove!

BEHOLD! It’s Alexis & Scott!
OK. I’ll admit it. Sometimes I’m in the dark here a little bit at the Otis & James Emporium of Fun and Photo-graphy. Some might say that I’m detached, or aloof. But I’m really not – I’m just too cool for skool…HUZZZAHHH! But sometimes, when gathering up images that will be a part of an online gallery or a blog post, I just ask myself ‘Did we really shoot that? Because I have no idea what is going on here.’ – and I’m finding myself in this pickle right now.
Because this beautiful couple that we had such a great pleasure working with, well…their shoot is going along like you would normally think. Lovely pics, all couple-ly and what not, and then – suddenly – lab coats & beakers. I have no idea. None. I wasn’t in the shoot and my lovely partner Queen James is busy having a baby, so I’m just going to chalk this up to ‘well, we’ve done that now.’ The pics are great, by the way. In fact, I wish we had more beakers in our shoots!
The need for delay being gone, now we shall give MuchLove to this lovely couple, and we shall remind all you good peeps of blog to – Enjoy!
