DO1MP V.4 . Tierany!

The Otis & James caravan of photographic love pulled into Minot at 3:00 yesterday afternoon, just in time for a session with our good friend – Tierany!

Seriously, we pulled into town, unloaded our cameras, got set up and started shooting. Thank God that we are used to this life of always being on the run, otherwise it would be hard. Tierany, however, made it absolutely as easy as it could be for her session. Seriously, we just turned the cameras on and she just commanded them to photograph, while we sat back and ate cookies.

We got a bunch of grrrrrrrrrrreat photo-s – so we would now like to show them to you – Enjoy!

DO1MP V.3 . James & Erin!

This past Thursday we had the honor of spending the day with James & Erin; and wouldn’t you know it – it was their wedding day as well! The Otis & James caravan of Love pulled into glorious Stillwater, MN, on an absolutely beautiful day!

Before we get too far with this, we need to backtrack to the day before (which was not such a lovely day – click here for an article about the storms.) As we hunkered down at our friends house (click here to see our friends), surrounded by hundereds of candles (seriously – when in need of a candle, just mention this to Deb as she can provide about 219 in four minutes flat), it didn’t look too good for the wedding the next day.

The high winds, downed power lines and torrential rains made it hard for us to escape our confines, so James actually had to conduct our last meeting with the Bride & Groom via candlelight and cellphone – bridging the gap from the 19th and 21st century. Old Otis & James didn’t even know how they were going to be able to charge their many batteries in preparation for the wedding (drama, suspense, etc.)

They awoke on Thursday to find that the power was back, and the skies were clearing. By the time we made it to Stillwater, they day had revealed itself to be glorious. When we made it to the actual location – we knew that this day was going to be absolutely beautiful!

We had a great group of people to work with, a beatiful couple, a beautiful day, and a beautiful location! Well, seeing as how this post is running at about 1000 words, I will stop running my mouth – or moving my fingers – and let’s just get on to some snaps from the day. James & Erin – thank you, and congratulations! Enjoy!

DO1MP V.2 . Mark!

Before the Otis & James caravan packed up and headed east, we had the good fortune of being visited by a man by the name of Mark. As it turns out, he needed photographs. Being photographers, we thought this would be a good match. Indeed, it was. Photograph we did, and photographed he was.

Calm, cool, collected and any number of other words starting with c is what mark was. We thank him, and to you the reader, we offer these photograhs to evidence our time spent. Good day…and Enjoy!

DO1MP V.1 . Anthony Pt. II

Congratulations to Anthony, as the title of his post is the most confusing series of acronyms, abbreviations and Roman numerals ever put together. I digress – we are now turning the Otis & James time machine back to this past Tuesday morning, when we had the pleasure of concluding the shoot of our old friend, Anthony!

Thank goodness for Chef Boyardee, and also that we held out for a better day, as this morning was simply splendid (although a little nippy.) Again, Anthony brought his A game out and we kicked out the james in a uniformly rocking good time. Even though I am not sure what any of that meant, I think we should just turn to the film for the hightlights – Enjoy!

Back Home!

For those which are regular visitors to the blog (you know who you are), you may have noticed that there has been kind of a news halt over this last week as Otis & James had a quick trip to the Twin Cities for a wedding/concert duo (regular readers may have noticed the U2 post as well.)

Well, we are back, back down to earth, are ready to put our noses to the grindstone (what does that mean?) and now we are going to begin the day of a million blog posts. This will be a veritable catch up day (it seems to me that in grade school we would occasionally have these same days, but they would be called Ketchup Days – clever indeed) of sorts is going to be had. So sit back, strap yourselves in and enjoy this Day of 1 Million Posts, or simply, DO1MP.

***BREAKING NEWS*** OTIS & JAMES MEET U2

MINNEAPOLIS

Lifelong U2 fan Otis and his trusty partner/newer U2 fan James had the pleasure of meeting U2 outside the Target Center this afternoon. They, along with a couple hundered other people were greeted by the band, which were gracious enough to come out and spend some time meeting & greeting before their soundcheck for their concert this evening.

At first, it seemed as if Otis & James would be stuck far far away from the band when they came out of the loading dock door, but through a miraculous series of crowd movements and miracles from the security staff, they found themselves right in front of the barricade that had been set up.

As it became clear that this would be the once in a lifetime chance to actually meet the band (everyone except for Larry, that is) – the photographic duo searched for something to have them sign. A light bulb went off in the head of Otis, as he realized that he had his trusted iBook. What better surface to deface with a black Sharpie than that of the elegant white expanse of this machine.

The first band member to approach was Edge. James presented the laptop and asked him to sign. There was a moment of hesitation as he asked if we were sure that we wanted him to do this to our trusted iBook. He may have looked at us like we were crazy, but he graciously obliged our wish.

Otis was truly stunned. Could this really be? Could the guitarist that he has idolized since junior high actually be standing a foot away signing his laptop? Inded he was, and next up was Bono.

From here on out, it just really became more and more ridiculous, as Bono and then
Adam signed the laptop. Seriously, truly wild. Bono wrote ‘Eat the Apples, Watch the Pips.’

Really, enough of this jibberish, as Otis must be leaving for the show. Thanks for reading, and feel free to stop by and see the U2 signature edition iBook (with their real signatures!) at the studio, and hear the rest of the story – because it is probably the coolest thing that has ever happened to old Otis. So, on with the pics – Enjoy!!!!

Josh in the Evening

We concluded our day with a visit from Josh! We got right down to business, and rocked it up at a breakneck pace. Josh was into it, was open to anything, and was easy to please (the perfect storm of good combinations.)

Josh was great to work with – again we thank him for his hard work, and will just stop all of this jibberish nonsense and get on with the pics – Enjoy!

Trenton in the Morning

Trenton was kind enough to roll on up to the studio this morning and submit himself to all sorts of photographic cruelties that we had been saving up. I kid. It wasn’t that cruel, in fact, I think it went pretty gosh darned good (as Jamie would say ‘Oh jeez – wasn’t that neat!)

We motored around in our rolling train-wreck of a car, and got all sorts of goodies along the way. We thank Trent for all of his hard work, and to express our thanks we should look at some pics – Enjoy!

Casey!

We had a long distance group of visitors stop by the studio this evening – Casey, Chelsey, & Jim came from far and wide to be with us (well, Casey came for us, Chelsey & Jim were there for Casey.) I managed to get most everyone wacked out on caffine, and in return we got some beautiful photographs with the lovely and friendly Casey!

Once again, due to the weather we weren’t able to complete the entire shoot, but we still managed to get quite a bit done – but be sure to keep your eyeballs peeled waiting for the conclusion. Again, thank you to the happy trio for being so good, and we couldn’t have asked for a better subject to photograph, and the proof follows – Enjoy!

Anthony the Patient

A big thanks to Anthony, as he patiently awaited arrival of his faithful photographers. He even managed to gain entry into the outer realm of the inner lair of Otis & James (he’ll know what that means), and he still couldn’t get us. We finally met up, and we let the photographic fun begin.

Anthony brought some weaponry into the studio, and the fun commenced! He amazed us with his agility, and with how easy and fun he was to work with. Due to the stinky weather, we’ll be concluding the shoot (photographic shoot, not weapons) in just a few days, so keep your eyes wide open to see the stunning conclusion. So for now – Enjoy!
