Kyla Kae!

Why does beauty have to be so kind to us here at the Otis & James FunCenter for the Study of Fun and Other Things?  I have been bashing my head into the wall for quite some time now trying to come up with some sort of answer, but all that I have is a rather large bump on my head and I have no idea where I am.  So, I’m going to stop bashing my head and just come to grips with the fact that beauty does smile upon us!

Take, for example, the ever-lovely super-wondrous Kayla Kae!  I don’t know what we did to get her through the doors of our studio, but thank goodness she did.  Because our lives would be much sadder if we had not the good fortune of the gracing of her presence.  She rocked, she rolled, she was gregarious and mysterious.  She was all of that and more.  But I fear that these words will only dilute the awesomeosity that is Kyla, so I think we need to put them to bed, give a huge MuchLove to Kyla, and remind all of you out there in the happy land of Blogville to – Enjoy!

Have I Told You About Molly?

Hmmm…let me check my o&j database of things I have informed you about.  Just a minute here…let me get to the M’s…I’ve got Milky-way…Milwaukee…Moog…holy cow.  No Molly.  Well, dear dear friends, we need to rectify this situation immediately!

Molly is a very wonderful person that came to the Otis & James FunCenter for Fun & Baked Goods (you should try the baklava – it’s amazing) for some superawesome Senior Pictosnaps!  And we were right there waiting for her!  And this had nothing to do with coincidence, it’s most likely because we had her name in a calendar and she had called or stopped by a long time ago to make an appointment.  But that has nothing to do with this story.

We couldn’t have been any happier to work with this fantastic young lady person!  She rocked, she rolled, she turned the camera into a non-stop machine of photographic goodness.  And you can take that to the bank (again, it has no cash value.)  We want to take this moment in time, this moment right now, yep, this here moment to thank her for giving us some of her sweet & precious time, wish her a huge MuchLove, and also we need to remind you, the faithful reader of blog, to – Enjoy!

Dig This Groove, Man…It’s Ashleigh!

Do you speak the same lingo as I do?  If you do, then you’re most likely trying to find a way to stay hip and fresh – you’re trying to speak the language of ‘the kidz’, if you will.  You see, I have it all down.  I know what they’re ‘digging’, I know the hip-hop and gangster rap.  I watch TRL.  I do the facebook.  It’s hard to stay on top of it all, it’s hard to keep your sense of cool, and as you get older it only gets harder.  One person, however, that does not have to worry about this at all is the ever-lovely Ashleigh!

I say this because she does not have to try to be cool.  She straight up is.  I remember there was a point in my life when it was just that easy – when you could just wake up, smile and you were groovy.  And this is what Ashleigh has!  She truly was wonderful to work with, and it can only be my hope that through photographic osmosis that I’m able to pick up on some of her mellow vibrations.  I can only dream…

So, as I get ready to listen to my new favorite song, ‘Getting Jiggy With It’, let’s take a moment now to give MuchLove to Ashleigh for becoming a part of the o&j family!  And to all my righteous dudes & dudettes out there in Land of Blog – Enjoy!

Git You Sum Goodness…’Cause It’s Alyssa!

Ladies and gentlemen of the blog, what we got here is some true photographic pictosnapic goodness about ready to whack you over the head!  And I know, all y’all out there are in need of a good dose of pictographic goodness, because – as I write this – it is Tuesday.  And you know what that means…it’s the day when we should all get our daily recommended allowance of pictogoodness.

You don’t believe me?  Then go ahead & call the Surgeon General.  Or the FDA.  Or whatever.  Because they’ll back me up.  Well, maybe you shouldn’t actually call them, because they might be busy with other stuff, but trust me when I say that they would indeed back me up in my assertion.  I don’t believe I’ve ever used that word on blog before.  How exciting.  But back to the matter at hand.

And that, my dear People of Blog, is the wonderfulness that is Alyssa!  We packed up our best disposable cameras, did a little in the studio, a little in the outside, and we pretty much rocked up the world of photagary.  And that ain’t no joke.  Nope.  So, before you head down to the samplesnaps to see, let’s take a second and give MuchLove to Alyssa for giving us a little bit of her sweet & precious time, and to all of you peeps out there – Enjoy!

Look Out World…It’s Haley!

I suppose that you think that since it’s Friday, and because we are in the midst of shooting a wedding in Bismarck, that you were not going to see any updates to the world of blog any time soon.  Well, my dear dear friends, you thought wrong!  And the reason because is that we have some lovely pictosnaps that are the perfect way to enter the weekend – and they are of a lovely lady that we like to call Haley!

Here’s the story.  Haley strolled into our studio not all that long ago for some sweetlysweet pictosnaps.  Now, we were very excited to finally have the opportunity to work with this wonderful woman because it seems like we’ve been running into her for quite some time.  You know, just here & there and what not.  But the day was here, or there.  Depending on how you look at it.  And I’m here to tell you that Haley did not disappoint.  In fact, she totally and completely rocked it all up. She dominated the pics, and I’m about to show you the proof.

But, before I do that, we need to stop and give MuchLove & ManyThanks to Haley for being so awesome, and to all of you out there in land of blog enjoying the start of the weekend – Enjoy!

GRGG v.9 || The Family Cunningham Edition!

Hello again.  It’s me.  And I’ve got some lovely pictosnaps to show you.  But, me being me and all, I gotta throw a few words before we get to the goodness.  So, here we go.

At the Otis & James Center for the study of MuchLove, quite often, we have the good fortune of working with individuals and families over the course of…well…some for just about as long as we’ve been in business for!  Take for example The Family Cunningham.  We were first graced with their presence all the way back in 2006!  Back then, Jamie & myself were just a couple of kids.  I had a flowing head of hair, and was just starting to grow my first mustache.  OK.  Maybe Jamie was just a kid, and I just had a fewer wrinkles and a less grey beard.  Whatever.  That’s not the point.

The point is that the first time we encountered this family was for Senior portraits of their always lovely twin daughters, Lacie & Lindsey!  After that, we took some prom photo’s, we took some family photo’s, and through it all we kept on thinking, ‘Man – this is one nice group of people!’  There must be something in the water over in Glenburn.  Good people.  Indeed.  Good people.

And time went on.  More wrinkles happened, more grey hairs appeared.  It’s all a part of the deal.  But sometimes, the deal can be kind of raw, and more than a little unfair.  And over the past year or so, we have sent so much love to every member of this family as time has altered their universe.  When I first met this family, way back in 2006, I was in the process of having my universe altered too, of having to say goodbye to my father.  And after it happens, you find that everything is just a little bit off of center.  You lose your balance, and you have to figure out a way to regain it.

And over these last years, I have learned that every day I live, I carry with me the love which was given by those that have moved on.  It’s right there, on my heart.  Smiling over me, taking care of me.  And I know that the members of this family have this same love smiling over them, and taking care of them!

Well, time marches on, and once again we had the goodlygreat fortune of working with this beautiful family – of working with every member of this family!  And, as we expected, they were all beautiful and knew how to work it.  MmmHmm.  When Family Cunningham rolls through, it’s going to be a cavalcade of goodness.  And that’s a fact Jack.  So, MuchLove & ManyThanks to this lovely family, and to you – all our faithful of blog – Enjoy Every Day!

GRGG v.8 || The Family Kitzman!

Are you ready to rock?  I said…ARE YOU READY TO ROCK???!!!  Because when this family is around, that’s what you’re going to be doing.  They’re not one of those ‘Kenny G’ families (no offense to you, Mr. G – but you’re kind of vanilla.)  Oh no.  This family is a thunderbolt of awesomeness wrapped in a fireball of fun.

You dig what I’m sayin’?

Cool.  We want to give a superduper MuchLove & ManyThanks to this family for stopping by the FunCenter and sharing some time with us, and we can’t wait until you guys come on back again!  We’ll be here with bells on!  Not literally, but you catch my drift.  OK.  Time to blast off to the pics – Enjoy!

GRGG v.6 || The Macen & Aspen Jack Edition!

Gather ’round the campfire, now…because I’m going to tell you a story about a couple of lovely children that stopped by the Otis & James Center for Fun (you can call it the FunCenter if you like, or even if you don’t like.  Whichever) to have their snippysnaps taken.  Good Lord.  What if we actually called them ‘snippysnap sessions.’  Ugh.  But moving on…

The doors of the FunCenter opened up, and these two lovely peeps came in and dominated the world of photogary.  And yes, I know that photogary is not a word.  But I make the rules around this digital place, and I hereby deem it to be a word.  And these two dominated it.  What’s that?  You want proof of my heady statement?  Well then, I suggest that you just take a look at the pics below and you’ll find all of the proof that you need!  But wait!  Before you do that, we should give MuchLove to these lovely children for visiting the FunCenter, and to you – you happy bright and shiny people of blog – Enjoy!
