Missy!

Again, this morning we arose to start the day with our new friend, Missy! What can I say about Missy…well…how about she totally rocked it up! She went crazy. She’s a crazy being photographed person. She is straight up mad. How about that? Me thinks these statements should describe to you how our shoot went this morning.

Again, due to the completely craptacular weather, we will have to return again to the land of ‘the blog’ to see the super-thrilling conclusion to our shoot – but for now take solace in these few precious images we have from our time together – Enjoy!

Mary!

Just when we thought the sun would never come out again, come out it did, and with perfect timing for our shoot with Mary! We had to delay the start of the shoot a little bit, but thank goodness we did – as the sun emerged from it’s hiding place behind the clouds and beamed us all with its radiant love!

Mary was awesome – totally great to work with, and really turned it on for the shoot (I’m not sure what that means, but it’s a good thing – did I just quote Martha Stewart?) Forget all of this nonsense that I spew, and let’s instead just say thank you to Mary and her lovely assistant (sister) – and also to special guest star boyfriend at the end of the shoot! So, with no further adieu I present Mary (0r at least a photographic representation of her) – Enjoy!

Gabe!

Yesterday morning we bounded into the studio with great enthusiasm (or at least with as much enthusiasm that can be had at 8:30), in order to work with our new friend, Gabe! He was in control, put-together, and ready to rock it in the AM.

Even though the weather continued it’s never-ending foggy/overcast/sprinkling/cold thing it’s been so into of late, we didn’t let that get to us. Instead we told ol’ Ma Nature to stick a wet noodle in it (did I just type that?) Instead, we worked in the studio, and Gabe will be making a triumphant return to Otis & James Central (even though we are no longer located on Central) for the thrilling outdoor conclusion to his photograhic session (sounds pretty clinical there.)

With no regard to this, let us move on with the show and see some of the goods – Enjoy!

Let’s Get Ready…

I’m about to do a roll call of Seniors! It’s been madness the past couple of days – but we’re putting it all back together and getting everything back on track. So sit back and enjoy the Cavalcade of Seniors!

Emily!

Emily and her band of gypsies (Mom, Hope, Luke, Friend #1 and Friend #2 – I’m pretty sure that’s what she was calling them – and special guest appearance by interesting camoflage lawyer to the stars) stopped the Otis & James Command Post this afternoon – and the reason was her super sweet Senior Pics Session!

How could we not have fun with Emily??!! There are nothing but smiles and good times coming from her! She lit up the studio, and in turn we lit her up (but didn’t get her lit up), turned the camera on and put that relfected light right inside that camera. Well…instead of talking about it, let’s just take a look (and be sure to tune in later to see the conclusion) – Enjoy!

The Family Theiler (and puppy too)!

Yesterday, we were paid a visit by the Family Theiler at good ol’ Otis & James! We wouldn’t let some lame weather ruin their shoot, so we just moved the party indoors and let the good times roll. They were awesome to work with, and their puppy was super-fantastic as well!

We thank them for taking the time to visit us on a Sunday afternoon, and as thanks we’ll now show you some snappy-snaps from the day – Enjoy!

Daxon & Ann

After what has seemed like an eternity of e.mails and telephone calls, Otis & James finally had the great, great pleasure of meeting Daxon & Ann this past Thursday (even though I was convinced that we were meeting the previous Thursday), and then yesterday found ourselves at their long-awaited reception! We were supposed to meet some time ago, but due to some problems in Jamestown (which may or may not have involved Otis, the authorities, and a travelling carnival) were never able to do so. And then, we had our early October Super Snow Storm, which made it seem like we woudn’t have a chance to meet them yet again! In our minds, it seemed as if we had been waiting forever to meet them, but in perspective, our wait was nothing.

Sometimes, it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day stuff that can bog a person down. It’s easy to get all wound up in things that really aren’t that big of a deal. Yesterday, at the reception for this beautiful couple, it was easy to see the things that are truly important. It was easy to see the love that is between this couple, and their families. When we find ourselves in a situation such as this, the photographs are just given to us – all that we do is turn the camera on and point it in the general area and the rest just happens.

We were lucky to work with this great group, we were lucky to work with this great couple, and we are lucky for the sacrifice that those such as Daxon have made, and continue to make, for us every day. We thank Daxon & Ann for this, and we wish this couple all the happiness life has to offer – Enjoy!

Steven!

This past Friday we were joined by a special guest star in the Otis & James Studio – Steven! Making the trip from far far away was not only Steven, but also his super-friendly family! They got started with us, but then left us to our own devices here at the studio. Now some people get scared when they are left alone with both Jamie and myself (more so with Jamie, and those of you that have worked with her know what I’m talkin’ ’bout) – but this was not the case here. Oh no, Steven showed us what it was all about, and I would say that not only did we do alright, but Steven totally tore it up at O&J Central!

We thank both Steven and his family for coming down to visit us, and I will now stop flapping my gums, and will get to some highlights from the evening – Enjoy!

Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuke.

We have a friend here at Otis & James, and his name is Luke. Some of you Seniors that we have shot may recognize him, as he sometimes is an assistant to us in the studio!

Luke is a very smart and happy young man, and he always brings much joy to the land of Otis & James whenever he stops by. So we thought we’d have him bring his train and doctor suit, and make the most of the morning here at Otis & James.

After a shaky start, Luke got into the swing of things and then really started to pull out those poses he had been saving up. It turned out to be a great shoot (except for the hand shut in the door part), and we got a ton of great pics. To Luke, we say thank you for being so good for us, and to Mom & Dad we say – Good Job, and Enjoy!

And of course…with Jamie

Travis & Leah!

Leah & Travis just happened to be standing around our studio at 8:30 this morning, so we naturally brought them in for some photographic fun! They got the day off to a bang (which makes it sound like they had some sort of a song and dance number worked up, which they did not), and totally rocked it up in the studio.

We then decided that they should be exposed to the outdoor element. They were tough, and we got some super-sweet-shots. We thank them for being so gracious, and we invite you to come back next summer to see some more photographs of them! But for now, let these snaps tide you all over – Enjoy!
