Julia!

There is a song, by a band from England called ‘The Beatles‘, that is called Julia. It is a perfectly lovely song. The song makes me feel happy inside. In much the same way that our time together with Julia this past week was perfectly lovely, and how the supersweetsampleseniorsnaps that are only a few short words away make me feel happy inside too! Something about the name.

If you haven’t heard the song before, you should check it out. It’s on the White Album. If you haven’t had the goodgollygreatgoshalmighty pleasure of meeting the one and only, the every lovely Julia, you should check out ‘the blog’ at Otis & James. Wait…you’re already here. Then you should just forrage your way through these next few words and at the end there will be a reward of pics!

Hooray for rewards!

MuchLove to Julia for giving us a little bit of her time, and to all of my peeps that are out there in the land of blog just waiting for another post – Enjoy!

Alicia!

There was a time and a space, that had a name attached to it, perhaps it was Sunday, or Monday, or possibly even Tuesday, it might even have been Klerptenday, or perhaps even Sandwichday…I don’t know…I’m not sure…I try…but the fog that surrounds my brain prevents me from fully understanding, knowing, accepting, buying, begging, borrowing (in much the same way that I am borrowing from P. Floyd currently), or stealing the details, the specifics, the minutia of the moment from the place in history that they occupy…the solid space that they occupy, the non-malleable from whence I seek to change, but always run into the fact that this which I sought to change can not be, and that which I aim to keep will continually change, but this is not our concern, what we have come here for today is not a discourse on the what’s why’s and where’s that make up the moments, but instead we need to change our focus, and please pardon what could be considered to be the lamest of all photographic jokes, because I promise you, I swear to you that I would not do that to you; I would not subject the faithful of the blog to punnery so awful, for I know that you are brighter, wiser, sharper and cleaner than all the rest, and there is no need for me to patronize you with such lamery, which, may or may not be a word, but this is not a concern for me either, as these words have become malleable to me as well, they should be alive, and not afraid of change by he that calls himself Otis of James, or perhaps Otis of Blog, or Otis of Shoreview…I will leave that open for your choosing, as any, none or all will be fine with me, but…the reason why we are here could, might, and should be the grand question we are all asking, and are never really able to answer, except for today, because the reason we are here if for Alicia!

The doors of the FunCenter opened up, and she bounded into our lives! Our time with her was splending and all too fleeting, and we would like to thank her for giving a little bit of her sweet and prescious time to the Keepers of the Fun (KOF) – that’s us – and to all of you out there in the land of blog – Enjoy!

Dear Blog People…

It is rare that I come to you with anything all that important, but here goes.

Friends of Otis & James, Perry and Melissa Olson, were blessed with the arrival of their precious daughter, Natalie Beatrice on October 22, 2006.

Born at just 29 weeks, and weighing only 2 lbs 4 ozs, Natalie has been in the NICU since her arrival. After spending almost the first 3 weeks of her life at Trinity Hospital in Minot, she is now at the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, Fairview.

Tyler & Valerie

This weekend past (and for those of you playing the home edition of the FunCenter, that means not this current weekend, but the weekend that happened last weekend…ummm…yeah), the Otis & James Caravan of Love was packed up, and headed west…to a land called Ray!

We did not do this just so we could say that we spent the day in Ray…oh no…we did this so that we could be the official photo-graphers of Tyler & Valerie, and on their wedding day! How Grand! The caravan, (sans Otis – who wants to let the happy couple know that he really really wanted to be there, but he is sure that you are probably happier that he did not come and get anybody else sick!), pulled into Ray, and the rest – as they say, was absolutely fab!

Jamie submitted her report on the days festivities to me (four pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12pt), and from her I have come to understand that she had a wonderful time working with this beautiful group, and she was very proud of how brave they were in order to find the perfect picto-graph!

It’s not every couple that will brave the November North Dakotan elements for the sake of a picture, so we (and again, I say we because I was there in spirit…looming over the event like a flu-riddled phantasm) were highly appreciative that they were so easy to work with! We had a wonderful time, and we would like to thank them again for allowing us to be a part of their day!

Well, before I go and get too sentimental on y’all, me thinks it best to stop this rambling and get to the part where you click on the smaller pictures to make the bigger pictures, which, in turn, will make your feel all warm inside! MuchLove and many thanks to Tyler & Valerie, and to all of my children out there in the land of blog – Enjoy!

Heidi C. And That’s That. Dig?

I’m just gonna come right out and say it.

I’ve had enough of all this tom-foolery (not sure about that expression, but I’m going to stick with it), and I’m just gonna be honest.

Seriously, I don’t think we need to beat around the bush (again, unsure, but going to remain true to it) on this one.

I mean, why dilute the pureness of the truth with a bunch of phooey (where am I getting these epxressions from? It’s like I’m becoming the embodiment of bad 1950’s speak)?

You know, I’ve had enough, and I’m just gonna say it.

I know. I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, ‘Do you even understand what you are saying?’ – and the answer is yes. In fact, I fully understand what it is that I am saying, and what it is that I am about to say.

Heidi. You owned this shoot.

Straight.

Up.

No phooey, no foolery, none of that stuff. Nothing but truth here. I wish that every day could be Heidi day in the FunCenter, but alas, we can only dream of being so lucky. I thought that Sistah J had set the bar high…but dude…you blazed your own path. Bar. Set. Higher.

MuchLove to you and your assistant for taking a little bit of Heidi time and making it into o&j time! Thank you for the Walrus, and thank you for pouched shirts and sad puppies. Now, to Heidi, and to my faithful of the the blog…prepare ye to – Enjoy!

Marquis…Rockin’ The Studio!

What is it about this young man that makes him so good?
Why are we so lucky to work with an individual that rocks the photos so much?
Marquis…what is your secret?
What is your magic that you work?

I wish he could answer these questions, but I’m not quite sure that he is totally quite capable of answering them fully on his own, however, I would not be suprised if he could…that’s how good he is.

We had a wonderful time working again with this gifted young man, and the time has come for us to forget about all of these words, and to focus instead on the lovelysamplesnaps that are only a few short words away – Enjoy!

Benjamin!

Ain’t nothing like a good pair of bibs, some christmas ornaments, and a whole lot of sweetsweet adorableness to make the FunCenter come alive! And, our man Benjamin brought all of that and a little more as he visited us again (this seemed to be the week which brought to us the return clients…indubitably!) for some totallyawesomeholidaysnaps!

Benjamin came to the FunCenter, tore it up, put it in a box, sealed the box up, sent it around the world, got the box back, opened it up, and put it all back together, and this time it was better than it started before he originally tore it up.

That’s how much he tore it up.

Dig?

Alright. Now that we’re all on the same page as far as how awesome the one and only Benjamin was (there are many more things that I will have to get you up to speed on, but in time…in time), it shall now be the time that we give thanks to Benjamin and his entourage (Pa, Uncle & G-Ma) for stopping down to the FunCenter on an evening so fine!

We had a wonderful time, and as a treat, we’d now like to stop all of this gibberish writing and get to the part where you all sit back, and behold the sweetlysweets that are/is (not quite sure which I should go with there, so I’m going to give you both) Benjamin – Enjoy!

The Children Diehl!

Dude. We’re putting the band back togehter. Yeah. I know. It’s been a while, but…there’s this family, see. And, they’re not all lame like the Partridge family, and they’re not creepy like those Hanson boys were. Dude, these cats are fo’ real!

I was all just sitting in my office, and from the studio I hear the sweet sound of musical expolsions coming from the FunCenter. I thought to myself, ‘Self…what is this glorious rumble that I hear?’ I sauntered out into the spacious confines of the FunCenter, and there before my eyes were the Children Diehl, and they were in the midst of some sort of a Mingus meets Grateful Dead meets Coltrane meets the Allman Brothers kind of jam that made me realize…we got to put the band back together.

I haven’t talked with the Children Diehl about this yet…or for that matter I guess I haven’t mentioned it to their parents either, but I think if we can bring them into the fold, we can make the band what we always dreamed it would be. We gotta strike while the iron is hot, or something like that. I’m gonna start by telling saying that we had an incredible time (as usual) working with this wonderful group!

We would like to thank Mom & Dad for coming down too, and let me know what you think about playing some shows…I think this could be the start of something good. Can’t wait to hear from you! Well, it seems to be that time when we stop writing, and put our eyes to good use and gaze upon the wonderment of…The Children Diehl – Enjoy!
