Shelby Time. Yay!!

Like I’ve told all y’all before, I’ve pretty much given up on trying to come up with titles to these blog posts that tax my mind in any way shape or form.  The problem is that you can’t have duplicate titles – so if we’ve ever had a Shelby before I have to add an extra word or two in order for the title to not be Shelby-2.  Which is a really depressing title.  It’s like getting mail at your house that is just addressed to ‘occupant.’  I mean, sure, that is you – but at that moment you realize that you are just an occupant to these people.  Not a name, not a person, just somebody occupying space in an abode until the next person occupies the same space.  And that’s just straight depressing.  And we don’t roll that way.  Nope.  We keep depression at bay thanks to the good folks at Merck® & Pfizer®.  But enough about us.

As the title says, it’s Shelby time!  And that’s a pretty darned good time for it to be if you ask me, and frankly I really don’t care if you’ve asked me or not because this is my blog and I’ll tell you what time it is.  But these words, enough of them!  Instead let us give MuchLove to Shelby for stopping by the FunCenter to have her senior pictosnaps taken, and to all you’s out there in Land of Blog – Enjoy!

Dig This. It’s Wyatt.

I’m just going to lay this one on you nice and easy.  No need for a thousand words or anything, it’s just time for you to sit back and get ready to dig on a sampsnap from Wyatt.  That’s all you gotta do.  No need to get yourself all worked up or anything.  It’s Sunday, after all.  Or it was Sunday when I wrote this.  I don’t know when you’re reading this.  So if it’s not Sunday just pretend that it is or something.  We cool?  Great.

So in the spirit of keeping things short, sweet & cool, Imma just gonna send MuchLove to Wyatt for stopping by the o&j for his senior pics, and to all you other happy & shiny people out there in Blogland – Enjoy!

Get Ready. It’s MacKenzie!

I don’t know what I’m telling you to get ready for.  It’s just a picture after all.  I’m kidding!  It’s not just a picture, it’s a superawesome seniorpictosnap from the oh-so-lovely MacKenzie!  So that’s what I’m telling you to get ready for.  I don’t want you to be all sitting there and being all unprepared for the goodness that is about to hit you over the head – I want you to be ready.  I do this because I care about you.  And that’s the Otis & James Difference®.

But enough about us, what we really need to tell you is that there was this time that (obvs) was way before the winter wonderland of below zero times we currently live in when MacKenzie entered into our lives, and our lives were all the better for it!  So, MuchLove to MacKenzie for letting us in to her life for just a small amount of time, and to all you good peeps out there in Land of Blog wondering if we are going to ever get to a time when the temperature gets to the double-digits above zero – Enjoy!

Winter Rose!

Winter Rose! All that needs to be said is that the idea of a rose in winter is one that sounds so lovely right now.  Pushing up through the snow, the tundra, to fill our little world with its beauty.  And that’s exactly what our Winter Rose did during her seniorpictosnap time at the o&j – filled our little world with her beauty!

So I’m just going to keep this short & sweet, because why ruin it with a stream of blabbering words?  So now we give MuchLove to this lovely young lady for letting us be a part of her senior year, and we remind all of you good and peaceful peeps of Blogville to – Enjoy!

I Give You Chase.

Chase! The lesson today is about the comma.  Now, the comma is something that I overuse, but is something that can make all the difference in sentence structure.  I’m pretty sure there are whole internet meme’s or tumblr’s out there which detail the follies of a lack of comma.  For example, the title of this post implies that I am chasing you.  Which I am not.  Because that is just plain & straight up creepy – which I will admit is something that I am good at but I try to keep it out of the business.  You know.  The up & up and whatnot.  But what I’m really doing is presenting Chase, so it should read I Give You, Chase.  There will be a written test at the end of this post.

But the point of all this is not to correct your grammar (although let’s watch our ‘there/their’ people) – the purpose is to take a gander (because apparently I speak like somebody from Appalachia during the turn of the century?) at a young man that we, and most likely the rest of the world, calls Chase!  On a day when you could still be outside without fear of frostbite, Chase stopped by the studes for some sweetlyseniorsnaps, and the results were awesome.  But you don’t need all of these words to tell you that, you just gotta look at the pic above these words to know that I’m not jiving you.

Before you leave, however, we need to send MuchLove to Chase for giving us a little bit of his sweet & precious time, and we also need to tell all you good peeps out there in Land of Frozen Blog to – Enjoy!

You Ready? It’s Tyler.

Tyler! In the title, I asked if you were ready.  But truth be told, I really don’t care if you’re ready or not – because it’s time.  It’s Tyler time and there’s nothing you can do about it.  So either your on board with this thing or you’re being left behind (I think I just made an old-timey train reference…who knew?) – and I don’t want you to be left behind.  So it’s time to get yourself ready because Tyler waits for no one.

Alright.  So now that we got ourselves all situated, it’s time for me to weave you a little yarn.  And this yarn involves a time when the Otis & James FunCenter Express (kind of like Panda Express but not really) had the goodlygreat pleasure of working with a young man by the name of Tyler.  Now, we didn’t just do work (although we did), we actually made some pretty awesome pictoriffic goodness.  Pictoriffic.  It’s a word.  I say so.  But regardless of my vocabulary, our time with Tyler was filled to the brim with goodness, but you know that because you’ve looked at the picture above these words.

But enough of these words.  We need to instead send MuchLove to Tyler for stopping by and letting us be a small part of his senior year, and to all my other good peeps out there in Land of Blog – Enjoy!

It’s Monday. It’s Cameron!

Cameron!I’m going to let you in on a little secret.  Most of you out there that know me most likely think that I’m in no way a fan of sports.  In fact, I spend a lot of time on the social media hashtagging things ‘#sprots’ to show my ineptitude when it comes to all things sporting related.  I was a theater kid.  I was into photography.  But one thing that I can not deny is that I am first and foremost a born & bred Minnesotan.  I grew up surrounded by the Twins, Vikings, North Stars and Timberwolves (although I still consider them a new team on the scene.)

Now, when I was in junior high and then during my senior year of high school the Twins won the World Series.  It truly didn’t get any better than that.  We were rewarded with some of the best baseball (1991 World Series…enough said) possible.  But to be a Vikings fan…it takes a lot of patience.  I mean, a busload of patience.  A lifetime of patience.  There have been many highs and many lows, and so many disappointments as a fan of the purple & gold, but through it all, no matter how much I say that I don’t pay attention to the games, I’m still a fan.  Every season starts out with nothing but potential, and even if it looks like all is lost you still hold out hope that somehow the Vikes will put it off…that maybe this will be their year.

So it’s hat’s off to men like Cameron that – knowing the history – step willingly into the chasm that is being a fan of the Minnesota Vikings.  You could take a team like Green Bay or Denver – they’ve been to the big dance and they’ve won – and you could have it easy.  Or, you could stay your course and stick with the Vikes.  And in doing so it shows that individuals like Cameron have patience, that they see the big picture, and that they are dreamers.

My dear peeps of blog, here’s to the dreamers (am I ripping that off directly from Apple®?) – here’s sending MuchLove to Cameron for stopping by the FunCenter and letting us take his senior pictosnaps, and here’s to telling all of you’s out there in Blogland to – Enjoy!

Wild Hands

1504457_622103437825968_1715834625_o

A few weeks ago we had the goodlygreat pleasure of working with Wild Hands on their band photos. We went old school for this shoot – brought out the Hasselblad and shot on 120 B&W film.  I know.  Your mind is all ‘what the heck is  this ‘film’ you speak of?  Well, my good peeps, back before the digital cameras we used to shoot on this film that used magic to capture the images (technically it’s a process involving silver halide and a chemical developing process, but let’s just call it magic.)  We even had to use a light meter!  No aperture or shutter priority!  It’s crazy – I know!  And if that isn’t wild enough, you can’t even look at the back of the camera to scroll through the images – you have to have them developed and then wait to get them back.  I know it sounds like a bunch of voodoo, and it really is.  But dang if it isn’t fun.

So we took this camera and ‘film’ and went to the Bunker of Wild Hands to get some snaps.  The boys in the band were oh so gracious and wonderful to work with, but anyone out there that knows them also knows that this is how they always are.  Except when Max is screaming and hitting people.  I JOKE!  I KID! But for anyone that knows Max, it’s funny to think of him being like that.  But back to the story.

If you haven’t heard this band you’re missing out – they are going places.  Straight up. We’ve known all of the guys in the band for a long time – we’ve known Maxwell since he was just a wee young man in high school.  We’re always proud of them in all of the musical incarnations they have been a part of (Diabolic Octopus/Atom’s Rite/Roughriders/Potential Caskets/The Morning Red/The Crooked Gospel of The Western Civilization/et.al.) because they always show the amount of talent that our town truly has and the artistic community that we’re so glad to be a part of and a proud supporter of.

So the pics.  They was awesome because the boys was awesome.  But now I’m just blabbering on, so it’s time to get to the part where we give MuchLove to the band for letting us take the pics, and to tell all of you out there in musical blogland to – Enjoy!
