Summer Flashback // Nicole!

Nicole!Maybe it wasn’t quite full on summer when this pic was taken, but whatevs.  I’m sticking with it.  The fact that Nicole was able to lay on green grass beneath trees that still had a majority of leaves on them makes it summer for me.  And if it’s summer for me it’s summer for you.  Because this is my dilly.  AND WHAT I SAY GOES.

Whoa.  What just happened there.  For a second I felt like I was leaving a comment on the KX Facebook page.  But that’s an entirely different topic altogether.  We are gathered here today to get through this thing called life.  Nope.  Let me start that again.  What brings us here is a lovely lady by the name of Nicole that stopped the the Otis & James to have some of our superspecial seniorsnaps taken, and I’m here to tell you that indeed, we took them.  We did not turn her away.  That would be contrary to running a business, and even though we are just dopey photographers that really have no idea about ‘business’ and things like that, we know that if somebody has some cash they want to pay us to take their pics we should probably find a way to make it work out.

But my good peeps, business lessons aside, Nicole was a true gem to work with!  If you even want to call it work.  It was more just being in the goodness of Nicole and having a wonderful time.  And you can take that to the bank.  Not literally.  But you know.  Figuratively.  Or something like that.  I don’t know what I’m typing any more.

So it’s time for us to send MuchLove to Nicole for being so wonderful to work with, and to all you’s other good peeps out there in your cozy little blog homes getting ready for the holidays – Enjoy!

Summer Flashback // Tre!

Tre!Summertime flashback continues, and this time we have the one & only Tre!  What can I say about Tre that hasn’t already been said.  That sentence in no way fits in here.  In fact, that sentence should be delivered at the end of a Comedy Central Roast (or for those of you old enough to remember when they were Friar’s Club Roasts – but I digress.)  But I guess if you want to get all technical, someone somewhere has most likely said something about Tre, and I guess that these words are only adding on to whatever has been said about Tre in the past…so maybe that sentence does work?  Whatever.  It’s there.  Back to the matter at hand.  Tre!

There was a day, there was a photog, there was a Tre.  All three of these combined in some sort of cosmic explosion of goodness and the results were fantasticallymagical.  I’m not joking around here folks.  Goodness happened.  But you don’t need to take my words for it, you can just glance up a little bit and see that goodness did indeed happen.  So there.  But now I’m just getting mean spirited or something.

So let’s just leave these words, send MuchLove to Tre for letting us be a little part of his senior year, and remind all of you out there in Blogdale to – Enjoy!

Summer Flashback // Laurice!

Laurice! As I look out the window and watch the snow falling, and as I glance over to the thermometer and see that the outside temperature is currently sitting at a balmy -6°F, I think that another trip down memory lane is in order.  Back to a time when you could be outside…standing in the grass with the sun on your back – and this time it’s a trip back to Laurice!

This absolutely wonderful senior stopped by the o to the j for some senior pictures.  But my dear friends, she just didn’t phone it in – she brought the goods.  She was all sorts of awesome to work with, but I’m sure that anyone that knows Laurice also knows that she is just all sorts of awesome.

But I’m just repeating the word awesome now, so it’s time for us to put these silly words to bed, to send MuchLove to Laurice for being so awesome (one more awesome never hurt) and to tell all you good people out there in Blogland wondering when winter actually starts – Enjoy!

Summer Flashback // Kaitlin!

Kaitlin!Words.  Words need to go here.  But sometimes the words just don’t flow from the fingertips like they should.  And sometimes I have the total and complete realization that nobody is really reading these words anyway, so it doesn’t make that much of a difference what I type as long as I’m not going off the deep end and putting up something libelous that will wind up getting me in trouble, which so far I’ve done a pretty good job of doing, but I guess that there’s always the next blog post that will go up, so you never really know, which really kind of adds a weird element of suspense to this whole thing.  I used way to many commas in that run-on sentence, but if you’re here for the grammar you’ve really come to the wrong place.

The words aren’t important.  What is important is that this post is all about the ever lovely Kaitlin!  That’s all that is really important.  All that other stuff, in the words of somebody else, you can just stuff it in a cup.  I’ve never really known what that means, but it’s been floating around my head for years and I’ve always liked it.  So yeah.  That’s what all that other stuff can do.

So what we’re going to do now is give MuchLove to Kaitlin for being so absolutely wonderful to work with, and then we also need to tell all you happy little people out there in your warm little blog homes reading these silly little words t0 – Enjoy!

Summer Flashback // Haden!

Haden! What we got in the pic above these words is what you could call a million dollar smile.  The smile of a person that you can trust.  A friendly smile.  The kind of smile that makes a person think that things are going to be just fine.

It’s not every day that a person has one of these smiles.  Take me, for instance.  When I smile it’s not with my teeth.  Never have.  Don’t know why.  Face just doesn’t work that way.  So when I smile I used to look like a little kid and now I look like an old man that can’t find his false teeth.  Doesn’t really project the same type of feeling that Haden is able to do with his smile.  Not that I’m jealous or anything.  No.  Totally.  Not jealous.  Whatever.

But enough about me.  This is about Haden.  And it’s about him stopping by the otis and the james to have some of those senior pictures taken.  And it’s about him really being a great guy to work with.  It’s also about how we couldn’t be any happier that he decided to stop by the o&j and spend some time with us.  That’s what it’s about.  And now it’s about sending MuchLove to Haden for being a fine man to work with, and to all you other peeps out there in Blogville doing whatever it is that you do – Enjoy!

Summer Flashback // MacKenzie!

MacKenzie!Seeing as how we apparently are in the depths of winter, me thinks it be an appropriate time to take a small trip down memory lane to a time when there was no snow on the ground, when you didn’t have to worry about wearing multiple layers or if your car would start in the morning.  All the way back to a time that really wasn’t all that long ago, but seems like a lifetime ago.  And we’re going to start this trip with the one & only MacKenzie!

If memory serves, there was a time, there was a studio, there was a photographer, and then there was senior pictographic magic that went down, as is evidenced by the picture above these non-sensical words.  The time and the place really aren’t that important – what is important is that MacKenzie gave us a little bit of her sweet & precious time to let us take said pictosnaps, and the results were fantastic!

But again, you don’t need these words to tell you that.  All you really gotta do is look at the pic above these words to know that I’m shooting straight here.  But enough with these words.  It’s time for us to send MuchLove to MacKenzie for being so wonderful to work with, and to tell all you good peeps out there in Land of Blog just waiting for a day when it gets to double digits above zero to – Enjoy!

Darling Hope!

HopeI don’t think I’ve ever used the word ‘darling’ in the title of one of these things, but there always has to be a first for something, I guess. Some words are buzz words that go in and out with the years.  For example, I believe the smart people at Oxford Dictionaries have declared ‘selfie’ to be their 2013 word of the year – it was between that and ‘twerk.’  Thank God selfie won.  The point of all this is that words may come in and out of fashion.  A word that is buzzy & catchy one year may find itself dusty and outdated in another year.  Think of all the poor portrait studio’s from the 1980’s named ‘RAD Photography!’ or ‘Totally Awesome Snaps!’ or the studios in the 1990’s that were called ‘Whatever Photography’ – at the time, pretty rad/awesome/whatever, but now….meh.  And I guess now we could have ‘…Meh’ Photography (Google it…it’s there.)

But here’s the deal.  Words come and go.  Catch phrases are cool than not (no soup for you.)  But something that is timeless is somebody like Hope!  Her effervescent personality lit up our lives for the short time she was with us for her senior pictosnaps (that word is an o&j original and I’m sticking with it until the end of time thank you very much) and that time was all to short & sweet.  But we will always have the pics to remind us of what once was…

But enough of all this sentimentality, what we really need to do is give Hope MuchLove for stopping down to the o&j and for being such a gem to work with, and we need to tell all you good people out there in Land of Blog to – Enjoy!

The Lovely Mylie!

Mylie!Again, my peeps…I don’t know what we do, or what we have done to get so lucky.  Take for example Mylie.  She’s right above these words.  And if I were  you, I wouldn’t even be reading these words, I would just be looking at the lovely picture and thinking, ‘now that is a lovely picture of a lovely lady.’  That being said, I also want you to read these words too, but totes don’t blame you if you don’t.

Back to the topic at hand – and that’s Mylie.  The doors to the FunCenter (that’s what those in the know like to call it) flew open, and into our lives on a day that wasn’t all that long ago but long enough ago that Mylie was wearing a dress in the outside and it doesn’t look like she’s freezing – where was I?  Oh yes…the doors flew open and into our lives strolled the ever-lovely Mylie!

She just wasn’t here to deliver the mail or anything either.  Nope.  We have a postal carrier for that.  Mylie was here to have some superawesome seniorpictosnaps taken, and I’m here to tell you that she did just that.  Not lying.  Just telling it to you how it is and how it was and how it will be.  I lost myself in that sentence.  Let’s see if I can find a way out.

But enough of all this crazy jibberjabber – it’s time for us to give MuchLove to Mylie for stopping by FunCenter and allowing us to take her senior pics, and it’s also time for us to tell all you good peeps out there in Blogville to – Enjoy!

Time To Get Real. It’s Harold!

Harold!I don’t know if Harold goes by Harold, or if he goes by Harry, or Hank, or Hap (Hap?) or just plain H.  You see, I just have some paperwork that I’m going off of, and we get the full name.  And sometimes this is the name that our peeps like to use, or sometimes this is only the name that their grandmothers use when addressing them.  For example, I’m Otis.  Or I’m Matthew.  For some people, I’m Matt (but the number of people that call me that decreases by the year) and occasionally I’m Matty.  But I’ll let you in on a secret.  Please don’t call me Matty.  Not offense to any Matty’s out there, it’s just that being called that variant of my name is like fingernails on the chalkboard to me.  But my peeps.  You didn’t come here to find out weird non-sensical information about me, you came here because of the one & only Harold!

You see now, there was this day, and there was this dude, and there was this studio, and there was this camera, and there were these lenses, and then there was this.  Right here.  And that’s how it went down.  You don’t need to know anything else other than Harold stopped by the Otis & James FunCenter for Fun and Stuff to have his senior pictosnaps taken, and our time with him was wonderful.  He was top notch, straight up.

But these words, we must make them stop.  Before we do, we must give MuchLove to Harold for stopping by the o to the j and letting us be a small part of his senior year, and to all my other good Peeps of Blog out there collecting acorns for winter storage – Enjoy!
