Eric & Amanda!

Our day of super-fun photographs (there was quite a bit of tedious office work, but does anybody really want to read a blog that talks about what bills were paid today, or the fact that we really need those click pencils??) continued with a visit from future Otis & James Bride & Groom (this sounds as if we might present them with a plaque for being a client, but there will be no plaque – instead they just have a good feeling inside that we will be there with them during their wedding day, or again, we hope they have a good feeling inside…or maybe it’s indigestion – whichever) Eric & Amanda!

We truly had a superfuntasticular time working with this lovely couple, and if our experience today is any indication, we will have a great time with their wedding as well (let’s just hope there won’t be as many interuptions during the wedding as there were during the session!)

A big shout out to E & A (this is what all their close friends call them – or at least I will call them this in hope that it will catch on) for being so totally and completely rockin’. Rock it up, now and forever more – Enjoy!

Lindsey!

This morning (can you belive that I’m actually starting a post that occured on the same day??!!) the Otis & James Community Place For Them (O&JCPFT) welcomed our new friend Lindsey, and her entourage of Sisters & Mom for some Super-Fantasitc Senior Snaps!

We were lucky to catch her, as the plane to Motown was leaving soon – but not so soon that we couldn’t spend a little time with her! We had a great time working with this fantastic young lady, and I was able to show her how much we appreciated her stopping by to hang out with us by a recitation of all knowledge pertaining to the Motor City (which, other than my knowledge of Nugent, really isn’t that impressive…but I tried.)

She was great, we had fun (we hope she did to), and we would like to say a big thanks to Lindsey and her lovely entourage for making time for the Otis & James Caravan. To show this thanks, we would now like to offer up some snaps from our time – Enjoy!

Yo!

Yesterday a crazy day on the website – so crazy that the site basically came to a screeching halt. We’re guessing this had something to do with the MHS Prom pics being posted.

We are working with our tech people to get this super-slow-at-times thing worked out, but until then, a couple of suggestions:

  1. Try to avoid the times between 4:00PM – 6:00PM CST, as these are always the highest traffic times to the site – come a little later, or a little earlier (I prefer the nightlife, even though it may not be the right life.)
  2. Have you ever considered a different browser? We reccomend Firefox (you can download it by clicking here.) The blog is a much more friendly place when using this browser, and you may even find that there is life outside of Internet Explorer!

That’s about it. Go forward, and blog in peace!

Comments Work Good, Grammar Still Bad.

Again, I think the title of this posts sums it all up. After much gnashing of teeth, pounding of chest and what not, it would appear that everything in the technical part of blogland is back to normal.

Translation: You can leave comments just like you were used to, without all the rigamaroo (which after typing seems like that probably is not a word) of having to register/login, etc..

Comment away, my friends!! Comment away!!

All MHS Prom is Up & Ready!

I think the title says it all. You can access the prom page by clicking here, or by following the link from the homepage.

Please call us at 701.838.6181, or e.mail us at info@otisandjames.com for additional information/questions, or to place an order.

Pricing information can be found by clicking here. Otis & James will be out of the office on Wednesday, but we will have staff here between 4:00PM and 7:00PM for you to stop down and pick up your proofs from the day.

It was a pleasure to work with everyone involved with the MHS Prom!

One Love!

Sam!

And what better way to end the evening than with a visit from our new friend, Sam! This young man, along with his entourage (Ma & Pa, respectively) came to warm confines of the Super-Studio ready for some sweet sweet six month pics!

Sam was a treat to work with, as were his ‘people’ – I think he’s gonna keep them on payroll. We would like to extend a big ol’ Otis & James Thank You to Sam & Peeps for making the evening a little brighter for us, and we would now like to get to some supersnaps (that is now one word) – Enjoy!

The Family Lewis

Yesterday afternoon the Otis & James Center for the Study of Pickled Herring (O&JCFTSOPH) opened up the doors and welcomed the lovely and gracious Family Lewis!

We have previously worked with one of the members of this clan – and we knew she was a real jem (do people still say that?), but we had no idea that the whole fam would be such a treat to work with!

We had a great time, and the laughs kept a-comin’ as we triggered a flash via the camera, for the purpose of exposing a digital sensor with a bunch of information which is in turn transfered to a computer and is then transfered to your computer where you can sit in the comfort of your home and enjoy these same images which just mere hours ago were real events. Crazy.

We would like to thank this awesome family for taking time to visit us, and we would now like to offer up some snappy-snaps from the day – Enjoy!

Chad & Amy!

On Saturday, our long distance e.mail relationship with a person that I’ll just refer to as ‘Amy’ (even though I’m pretty sure this is her real name, so I’m not so sure why I should put her in quotes, but it does add that element of danger that we’ve been seeking here in the land of blog…where all the children run free) came to an end as she and her fiancee, which for conversations sake could be called ‘Chad’, paid us a visit in the land of Otis & James on an absolutely wonderful experience, which shall be known as a ‘wonderful experience.’

That was an example of a run-on sentence, and I invite all of my faithful bloggerites to print off a copy of this and mail a corrected version to:

All entries must be received before midnight, May 1st. There is no prize for winning, just the pride in knowing that you made the effort.

Let’s put all of this in a box, seal it up, and get back to the matter at hand, and that is Chad & Amy!

How could we not have a great time with this couple? They were awesome – they came here ready to rock (I could tell this by the Slayer bumper stickers that were on their garment bags), and rock they did! We started in the superstudio, and then busted down the winter door that has held us back for the last few months, and ventured to the land of sunshine, and fresh air. Some call this the great outdoors, I call it…well, I guess I call it the same thing.

It was beautiful, they were beautiful, and I think that it’s time that we all stop reading, and let the staring into the snaps begin – Enjoy!

Anna!

Last Monday, (and I’m talkin’ ’bout the one that came not just this past one, but the one that was the one before) we had the great pleasure of welcoming back to the studio the one and only Anna!

She was with us a couple of weeks before this for some super-awesome and totally rockin- Prom snaps, and obviously we didn’t scare her enough with our strange brand of early thirties creepiness that we, or actually I, sometimes give off. Like I’m all like, “Yeah, I’m just listening to Fall Out Boy on my iPod”, when in reality I’m listening to the soundtrack to Flashdance on my Walkman Cassette Playa.

She was able to put all of this aside and come back for some super Senior Snaps, and the results were sweet. Totally. But don’t take my word for it, my fellow bloggers, look at the snaps…look at the snaps – Enjoy!

A Message From Matt & Jamie

We would like to thank everyone that expressed their condolences to us during this past week. It has been a tough month for us, and the support that we have received from our friends, family and clients has been of great importance.

It has been difficult for us, as the business really only consists of Jamie and myself. The loss of my father was an event that greatly impacted us on a personal level, and likewise has had an impact on the business too. We know there has been frustration from our clients during this time, but be assured that absolutely every effort has been made over this period to ensure a continuity of services to our clients. We know that turn-around times have been extended, but your needs as a client have not been forgotten. We also understand that life goes on, and time marches on.

Over the coming days, we will regain the service times that we normally expect, and hope to return to whatever normal is around here. Both Jamie & myself were faced with difficult decisions over this past month in regards to our time management. I am thankful that our focus was on spending time with my father, as the importance of this far surpasses any other choice that could have been made.

My dad was very proud of our business; he had the opportunity to see it grow from the baby stages to where it is now. He was also a believer in hard work, and we know that he wouldn’t want the business to suffer over him. We will honor his memory, and we will do this by continuing to build our business, and by serving our clients needs.

We thank you for your understanding, and we promise to never get so heavy on you again.

Much Love
One Love

Otis & James
