Erin & Wade…(A Little Late!)

One of the very last things that we all (Wade, Erin, Otis & James) talked about at the end of the shoot last Saturday was how our old friend Erin is a devoteé of the blog – not that she is all weird about it, just that she likes to keep up with all the goings on in the land of Otis & James (aka the FunCenter for Fun!)

It is my hope that she is not alone in this. In fact, we encourage all that come to keep on coming back to see all the shiny new faces that show up on these pages of blog! Some may think that they are stopping by too often, but alas, there is no such thing as stopping by too often in around here.

You see, I come from a long line of people that encourage others to stop by. I’ll make up a pot of coffee, we’ll talk for a while, maybe have a cookie or two. It’s just what we like to do (I think it might be a Norwegian thing.) It’s just that this has moved from around the kitchen table, and instead resides out there in the ether. The great thing about this is that it’s never too late – you can never inconvenience us. Heck, have as many cookies as you want – we’ll make more!

With this in mind, it is with great irony that yours truly, Otis, made a little mistake the other day and instead of putting up the absolutely lovely photographs from the incredibly friendly Engagement Session of Erin & Wade (and remember, Erin is a devoteé), I accidently just saved the post to be put up later. And, seeing as how I am trying to keep my egomania in check by not continually going back to the blog and reading everything over and over again and marveling at how wonderful I am, I didn’t become aware of this aggregious error until the lovely Jamie asked me why I hadn’t put up their snaps yet!! What, said I, are you talking about??!! Oh, the horror of my error (I like how those two words look together, perhaps that could be a good band name – Horrendously Erroneous – totally metal)!

So, it is without any further delay that I present to the faithful out there in blog land the engagement sample snappy snaps of the always wonderful Erin & Wade – Enjoy!

Sweet Rockin’ With The Family Edwards!

With a title like ‘Sweet Rocking With The Family Edwards’, it will probably take little effort to figure out that this past Saturday, we did some Sweet Sweet Rockin With The Family Edwards!

Now, sometimes people may wonder, ‘What is all this craziness that this person called Otis is always spewing??? What exactly does it mean when he says that there was sweet rockin’ happening???’ Some may think that there are subtle undertones occuring, or that I am implying that something fishy may have been going down.

Again, don’t worry your heads like that! I assure you that when I say that there was sweet sweet rockin’ going down, I mean…let me see if I can explain this to you…it’s like when Lynyrd Skynyrd (and I had to look that up – seriously, what is up with that spelling?) is playing Sweet Home Alabama, and they’re really locked into a good groove – the guit-fiddles are blazin’, the pinano is singin’ – the whole thing makes you feel like it’s a warm summer day, and life is good! That’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout!

So…you get it?? Well, if not (and I’m thinking that most of you have stopped reading now and have just moved on to the snaps), let us do just that and stop reading now and go to the snaps. Thanks be to Family Edwards for taking a little time off from all their hard work to visit us, and – Enjoy!

The Family Hammiel + 1!

This past Saturday the O&J FunCenter opened up the doors to none other than the Family Hammiel (and a special guest all the way ((at least for now)) from the great state of Arkansas!)

They were down here for some supertotallysweetlyawesome Family pics, and maybe even some with their Arakasasisian (is that what they’re called?) friend! Whoa now, just take it easy…I know you’re thinking that I’m going to complete this opening sentence with a statement saying something along the lines of ‘rest assured, my fellow bloggites, having superfantastictotallyawesome pictures they totally did’ or something like that, but I’m going to go all crazy on you and just say, quite simply – Dang. Rock, they did! Awesome they were, and sweet they are!

Mucho (that’s Spanish for much) thanks to the fam+1 for taking time out from a beautiful Saturday for us, and we would now like to serve up a steaming plate of sample snappy-snaps – Enjoy!

Kyle & Andrea

On Friday, the Otis & James Caravan of Love and Peace (in no way affiliated with any of those hippies) pulled out of Minot and headed a little south, to a place called Bismarck. We didn’t do this to see the Gov, or to go for a swim in the Riv (remember, the kööl thing is to use the abbrevs.) No, no, no, my friends – our mission was much better than either of these options. You see, we ventured down so we could do the snappy-snap thing we do, and this time for the lovely Kyle & Andrea!

Everything was perfect for their day. I mean, seriously, everything was perfect. The attention to detail for the event was top notch – kudos in our book for a job well done to everybody that played a part in the creation of the day (and I’m sure that you all did it just so you could here from me that I thought it was all good – so there – you got the ol’ thumbs up!)

Our trip was whirl-wind, as we had to boot back up to the land of Minotia before the O&J-Mobile turned into a pumpkin, but even though our time with Kyle & Andrea was fleeting, the results were gorgeous! Enough of these words which flow drip from my hands like water from a rock, and let’s get to the goods – Enjoy!

Thursday Rockin’ With Ashley!

I was going to call this post, ‘Ashley…Master of the Pan Flute’, but I’m not sure that anyone would even get the reference to the totally awesome informercials that used to bombard my head during all hours of the day during the ’90’s. If thereis a groundswell of support for this alternate title, just let us know in the comments section, and once it becomes clear that there is great support for this, we will make the change.

What does this have to do with the absolutely lovely Ashley that graced our studio this past Thursday, you ask?? The answer is nothing! But the truth of the matter is that none of that even matters, the only thing that does matter is that this past Saturday the O&J FunCenter was given the good fortune of working with our new friend Ashley, as her quest for Senior Portraits began! This may not be the only thing that matters in life, but right here in the right now of this words, it is all that matters!

Would you believe me if I told you that Ashley was a true treat to work with, as we subjected her to all sorts of tortuous (is that a word?) activities! Well, it doesn’t even make a difference if you believe me or not, because what I tell you is the truth…THE THRUTH!! She didn’t even blink as good ol’ Jamie had her all rubbin’ up on some sketchy wall that caused itching! What a trooper! What a super-trooper! What a scoooper-trooper-super-duper! Indeed!

Enough with this gibber-ash, on with the snaps – Enjoy!

Storm Chasin’…With Amber!

This past Wednesday we started our 2007 Seniors off with a bang, which was caused by lightning. You see, I could have said that we started off with a bang and just left it at that, but there was this mad stormy weather that kept on keepin’ on throughout the course of the shoot.

We started off in the studio, but when we was supposed to go outside and do the location part of the shoot, the weather said ‘Oh no you ain’t…so don’t even THINk about it!’ (I like the way that this looks with the k not being capital – sort of looks like it might be the name of some sort of fancy new company that specializes in corporate identity solutions…THINk – check it out) So we let ourselves be at the mercy of the weather for just a little bit, and took a little break to let it calm down.

When we started back up again, it seemed as if the weather temper tantrum was over, and we ventured into the wilderness of the great outdoors with reckless abandon! No sooner had we begun this abandonment of whatever the opposite of reckless is, that the weather reared its ugly head again. But no, my faithful bloggerites, we did not let this nasty ol’ weather scare us back to the FunCenter (aka our studio), oh no, we stood strong and said ‘Is that all you got to offer??’

The response, a feeble ‘Yeah…I’m going to stop this wind, rain, lightning and what not and I’m gonna let you get some sweet snaps – and oh, hold on – I’ll give you some sweet sweet sun and beautiful skies to work with…and…can we still be friends?’

While I still haven’t figured out if we still have room in our lives for Weather (its friends call it w – again, lowercase – and yes, it knows that the Prezzy-Prez is called that too, but Weather had it first), what we were able to figure out is that Amber was a treat to work with – it’s been a while since the last time that we worked together, and we couldn’t be any happier that she was the first of this new season. Well, seeing as how this post has taken on epic proportions, we present to you Amber – Enjoy!
