O&JWYB v.4: Shawn & Kayla

Guess what we did with this lovely couple.
No, we didn’t buy them a carmel covered apple.
And we didn’t lock them in the studio while James and myself went next door to 10 North Main for dinner.
There are many things that we didn’t do, but one big one that we did…are you ready…WE WENT OUTSIDE!

Finally!! After months of breathing the incense filled air in the studio, we ventured out of our winter cocoon, and the results were fantastic!

But it wasn’t just the weather that was totally rockin’ it up, it was this couple that took things up a notch, and then went up one more just for good measure. Dang. They were good. I’ll be real wit ya for a second (see how hip that was.) The combo between these two things (the outside and their hotness) was a killer combo, and we’d now just like to quit this crazy, crazy talk and move on to the proof – Enjoy!

Aaron & Janell!

Alright, by the time most of you read this post, it is my understanding that this happy couple will have already gone from Engagement Photographs to actual wedding photographs – in one week!

Let me explain. Last Saturday (I know, I know…I’m running a little behind on this one) we were paid a visit from this totally awesome couple, and the reason was none other than some super-super-duper Engagement Photographs! But (and I know that you shouldn’t start a sentence with ‘but’, but as I write this I’m feeling a little…dangerous) this couple is doing it a little different – they’re just rockin’ right from these to the actual event in record time!

We’re just glad we were able to catch them before the big day, and we would like to wish them congratulations and offer all the best with their life together (and thank you for coming down to the studio last week, and having such fun with us) – Enjoy!

Saturday AM with Matt & Natasha!

That title sounds like it should be a radio show – sort of like a sports roundup sort of thing. You know, where there are highlights of the past week, and it’s all dissected by the hosts. Well, it was far from that. Instead, we (or actually just the Otis part) had the great pleasure of meeting soon to be Bride & Groom, Matt & Natasha for the first time this past Saturday!

After kind of a rocky start (all on the part of ol’ Otis), we got things turned around and this awesome couple turned on the charm for some sweet sweet engagement photographs! It was a pleasure to work with this charming couple, and we can’t wait until June for the big event. We thank them for taking the time to come down to the super-studio, and hope that Matt was able to make it through the day of wedding preparations in one piece. For the rest of you, thanks for tuning in, and – Enjoy!

Luke & Becca!!!

It was with great joy that we yesterday evening that the O&J Superphotocenter welcomed long time friend of O&J Becca and her wonderful fiancee Luke to our little world! The reason, engagement photographs!!

It just seems like yesterday that our little Becca was still in high school…oh how time keeps on tickin’. You see, in our former pre-O&J lives (we haven’t always been the crime-fighting super-heroes that we are now), we had the great pleasure of working with Becca in the ol’ photo lab (shout out to all our past & present RPL peeps – HOLLA!!) Much has changed since those days, but one thing that hasn’t is Becca’s warm & friendly personality – and it would seem that she has found a man by the name of Luke that shares these same traits with her!

It was great to meet Luke, and it was totally awesome to be taking their engagement photo’s! We want to thank this wonderful couple for coming down to the studio and paying us a visit, and we would now like to offer up some snaps from our time together – Enjoy!

Darrik & Betsy!

Up next on Saturday at the O&J Foundation for Breakdancing and Other Talents (or simpley, O&JCFBAOT) was a visit from new friends to the Otis & James Family, Darrik & Betsy!

The reason for this lovely visit – Engagement Snaps! After a long conversation in which Otis told his life story (and James slipped into a standing coma as this was the 14,192 time that she – yes, James is a she – has heard it all), we were off and running with this fun couple! They were totaly awesome to work with, and we would like to thank them for taking time to visit us, and for listening as Otis rambles on and on. Well, seeing as how this post is rambling on and on, let’s move on to some sample snaps from the festivities – Enjoy!

Scott & Linnzi

This past Sunday (I know I’m going out of order as far as the chronology of the posts go, but that’s how crazy I am…crazy) Otis & James Central took a break from its mini-vac (for those of you that don’t know what that means, you’ll have to look down a couple of posts to figure this slang out) for the occasion of taking some super-fantastic Sunday afternoon portraits of Scott & Linnzi (with a couple of special guests!)

This special Sunday was made all the better by the fact that the James part of the business wasn’t here…uh…that doesn’t sound that great – but the reason why it was all the better was that the part of James this day was being played by Otis, and playing Otis was Super-Britt! For those of you not familiar with all this role playing, let me break it down. James was somewhere on the East Coast – perhaps in an undisclosed location, and Otis was actually operating a camera (which for those of you that were wondering, he still knows how to do) and Super-Britt was doing what Otis normaly does – which is talks a lot and fiddles with the music while James does all the work.

OK, back to this lovely couple – they were awesome to work with! It was nice to see everyone all dolled up (especially you, Scott) and it was good to get Scott out from the front part of the building and in to the back part – because that’s where the action is!

We want to thank this lovely couple, and their super-awesome special guests (I’m talking to you, Leah & Autumn), for coming down and having fun with us on this Sunday afternoon. Well, I may have lost the majority of you at the second paragraph, but for those of you still reading – Enjoy!

Levi & Shana!

Our Saturday continued with super-special appearance by new friends of Otis & James, Levi & Shana!  At first, it looked (probably more so to them) that we wouldn’t be able to hook up on this lovely day.  But after phone calls, a little bit of investigative work, and a little consternation (I’m not quite sure if that is the proper usage of that word, but sometimes you just gotta go with a work that seems to work) the melding of these two worlds (again, melding – not even sure that this is a legitimate word, but I’m livin’ on the edge, baby) indeed came to fruition, and it was a fruition in style (now, I know for sure that one can not have fruition in style, but I’m going to do it)!

To break it down in to regular english, this happy couple came to the studio and rocked it up good – they tore the roof off of it – they burned the place down (etc., etc. – I’m sure you get my drift).  We are happy that everything came together, and that the trip to town was not wasted!  We thank them for their patience, and for being so great to work with.  Seeing as how I’ve created about a 74% gibberish post, I will stop typing and move on to some of the goods from the day – Enjoy!

Jeff & Emily

On this past Monday, Otis & James (I love refering to ourselves in the third person – I find it really establishes a bond with the reading audience) had the good fortune of being able to take some wedding photographs of O&J friends, Jeff & Emily!

We had a great time with this wonderful couple (assistant Mom too!), and we got some truly great snaps during our time together! We thank this great couple for finding a way to make these photographs happen, and we would now like to offer up some of the goods from the day – Enjoy!

Lance & Melissa

This past Saturday Otis & James had the great pleasure of being a part of the wedding of Lance & Melissa (too many of’s, but still great all the same)!! They have followed us from old locations to new locations, and it seems like we’ve known this great couple forever, but it was finally time for the big day – time for us to let them go…(sad music playing in the background.)

Even though it is sad for us to let this great couple move on, we know it has not been the preparation time with Otis & James they have been looking forward to, but instead they probably have been anxiously awaiting actually being married. Not to say that the time they spent in O&J world wasn’t the best time in the world…actually…the un-air conditioned days over at the Union National weren’t really all that great, but regardless, we still had fun!

We will miss this happy couple, and we wish them a true wish of congratulations! Thank you for letting us be a part of your big day! Well, before I ruin any street cred that I may have left by getting too sentimental, I will move on to some snaps from the day – Enjoy!

Nathan & Nicole!

Bringing our big day to a close on Wednesday was the lovely couple, Nathan & Nicole!

They warmed up the winters night (is that a cheesy cliche or what) with their playful ways – uhhhh…that sounds kind of creepy, but rest assured again fellow bloggers, as their was nothing but good times going on!

Again, let me be clear, these two came to the studio and we all had a great time with this fantastic couple! The photographs were great, and it’s because the people in the photographs were great! We thank them for taking time this evening to come and visit us, and would now like to offer up some pics from the night – Enjoy!
