Bridal Show, Bridal Show…Why Do I Love You?

This past Sunday, Otis & James Photography had the good fortune of participating in the Fianceé Bridal Show, right here in good ol’ Minot, USA! This was the second year that we’ve been a part of the show, and as was the case last year, it was a totally sweetly sweet time!

We always have a great time working with the good people at Fianceé – some of them even work for us (I’m looking right at you, Kinzo & Ben), and every last one of them did an incredible job in putting together this righteously sweet show! Of course, none of this would be possible without the leadership of the one and only Debbie Harris, the fabulous owner of Fianceé!

Fun was had by all, and we would like to thank everyone that came to the show, and a big congratulations to all the prize winners! But enough of all these words, let’s look at some supersnaps from the festivities – Enjoy!

Danae & Blake

Up next on our voyage in the o&j WayBack Machine is a visit to a land that some people out there in this world refer to as Berthold, and the reason was not just to stop by the Cenex or the grain elevator.

No, no, no. Once again, the Otis & James Caravan of Love left the Minot station and headed a little bit West, and it was for the absolutely wonderful wedding of Danae & Blake! Well, if we want to get all technical here, I guess that before we actually headed out in the Caravan of Love (which is far more glamourous sounding than it really is…which, truth be told, the Caravan is actually a 1977 Totota Corolla station wagon, with an AM radio, but now is not the time to speak of this, we need to instead focus on the matter at hand…but first, I have to get out of these parentheses), the completely beautiful and absolutely wonderful Wedding Party came down to the FunCenter for some totallysweetsnaps!

It is always a ton of fun (note to self: never use the term ‘ton of fun’ again) when wedding parties come down to the FunCenter for Fun, and this day was no exception! It was a party! Good times were had by all! Holla! I don’t know what that means! Yes!

But really, did you come here to read some sort of a novella that is soaked in insanity, or did you come here to look at some sweetsamplesnaps from the day? I betcha (look at me use authentic vernacular!) you came here for the snaps, so I’m just going to say thank you and congratulations to this wonderful couple, and to all of you out there in the land of blog – Enjoy!

Lindsey & Scott

Alright everybody. It’s been a long time since we’ve started up the Otis & James WayBack Machine, but it’s time to suit up, and prepare ye for some seriously sweet travels. Our first stop is all the way back to a time that shall be known as the time of more than two but less than four Friday’s ago, and the land that we will be traveling to is a magical and mystical place that shall forever be known to the people of the blog as…Harvey!

I know you’re wondering, ‘Why do we have to crawl into the WayBack Machine again…there’s a bunch of candy wrappers on the floor and it smells like a combination of french fries and Joop in here’, and I’m here to tell you that subjecting yourself to a trip in the WayBack Machine will be totally worth it, because we are going back to see some supersweetsample snaps from the wedding of Lindsey & Scott!

You heard me! We had the good golly great gosh almighty honor of being a part of the wedding of Lindsey & Scott, and I’m here to report to you that the Otis & James Caravan of Love pulled out of the Minot station, pulled into the Harvey station, and the party just kept on a keepin’ on! And do you know why it was so awesome? I’m not going to wait for your answer, I’m just going to tell you.

It was awesome because Lindsey & Scott, as well as their wedding party and families were totally and completely awesome to work with! We had a wonderful time, and we would like to wish them a heartfelt o&j congratuations, and a thank you for letting us be a part of the day!

Well, enough of all this talkey-talkey, and let’s get on to the reason you’re here. MuchLove to one and all, and – Enjoy!

Brittany!

Brittany! Did you know what the story behind this name is? If not, let me explain.

In the early 15th century, the people of the area in what is now known as Luxembourg were faced with a great dilemma. The spring rains had never come, and they were in the midst of a brutally hot summer. The crops were failing, and the prospect of a great calamity seemed almost inevitable.

The Luxembourgeans were distraught. They did not know what to do. They gathered together and gnashed their teeth searching for answers. It was then, during these dark moments, that the answer to their situation became clear. They would need to tunnel deep into the earth and find the rivers of meat and cheese their ancestors had told them about. They knew the challenge wouldn’t be easy, but this last desperate choice was all they had.

This great plan of tapping the inner-earth meat & cheese posed an additional problem to the Luxembourgeouise, as their ancestors had also told them of a great mosnter that lived beneath the surface of the earth, and he was called Clifford. They were torn. They could have endless supplies of meat & cheese, but they would have to face the greatest enemy of all…Clifford.

The choices were hard, but the Luxembourgalts were desperate, and endless supplies of meat & cheese seemed to be pretty good. They suited up, the gathered their rudimentary shovels, tools, etc. and began the arduous process of digging to the center of the Earth.

At the end of the first day, they Luxembourgheouse had tunnelled a total of four feet. According to their calculations, at this rate it would take them 10,739 years to reach the bounty of meat & cheese…and that was if Clifford left them alone. They were distraught. Again, teeth were gnashed. It seemed as if hope was lost. That is, until a fair maiden that called herself Brittany came to them.

Brittany spoke these words to them: “Let me get this straight. You are going to dig to the center of the Earth, where you will find rivers of meat & cheese, and you might have to fight an inner-earth monster that calls himself ‘Clifford’? Really? Are you serious? The center of the Earth is magma, kind of like a molten lava sort of thing, and you can’t eat it. And, a river of meat? How exactly would this river flow? Have you ever seen meat flow? It more just kind of sits there, and that really wouldn’t be a river now, would it. Perhaps, instead of some half-baked crazed-out plan, how about everyone pools their resources together, and helps eachother out! I’m not talking some hippy-dippy stuff, peace love and happiness sort of a thing, I’m just talking about until this drought is over – because if you look at weather patterns, you will see that these sort of things happen ever so often, but they always pass.”

The Luxembourghgehteush stood in total awe of these words of wisdom, and proclaimed that from henceforth, whenever you shall refer to anything that is awesome, sweet, rocking, righteous and absolutely wonderful, you shall call it Brittany! They put their shovels down, and lived happily evah aftah.

And that’s that.

MuchLove to Brittany for stopping down to the FunCenter for some supersweetseniorsnaps, and to all of my people in the land of blog – Enjoy!

Michelle!

I sit here at my keyboard, staring at the screen. Waiting for the words to flow (my closest friends know that this is one of my least favorite words – I feel that it should never be used to describe anything other than a river, but from time to time I will try it out and see if my feelings on it have changed, and the answer is no, they have not changed, it is still not a good word, and we should put it back to the place where it came from, and only bring it out again if I am speaking of a river, but it shall never be used to describe anything here at the FunCenter) from my fingertips, wondering what this post will be about, wondering what direction my brain cells will take us, wondering what will happen today in the land of blog, but sometimes, the words don’t come all that easy, and I stand and stare at a wall, a digital wall, if you will, and I wonder to myself if the blog post will just say things such as ‘Here is Michelle, we took her pictures, and you should look at them’, or ‘Michelle and FunCenter good – Enjoy’ or ‘SuperSweetSnaps, you betcha with Michelle’ or even that old chestnut ‘Michelle, MuchLove – Enjoy!’, any of these would work, and of these would get the job done, but we’re not here to just get the job done, if that were the case we would just be happy with a wicker chair and the fake book background, but we are not happy with that, we are not content with that, which is why I shall not be content with any of those blog possibilities, and instead, I will offer up a blog post that shall go like this:

All things wonderful and beautiful and sunshiney and happy and glorious came together at some point in our recent past (I’ve given up on notions of time) as the doors of the FunCenter opened up, and a person that called herself ‘Michelle’ entered our studio…and our lives…for some totallyawesomeseniorsnaps!

MuchLove to Michelle for giving us some of her valuable time, and to all of you tending to the upkeep of society in the land of blog – Enjoy!

You see, that’s how it’s done!

Miriah!

Up next in the Otis & James Cavalcade of Fun was a visit from the ever lovely Miriah! Now, she did not come down to the FunCenter just for fun (even though there is much of that to be had), oh no – she came down here for something even better than fun.

I know, I know. You’re sitting there in your homes in the land of blog (where all the trees are covered in powdered sugar, the rivers are filled with butterscotch, and everyone receives a complimentary chocolate covered cherry a day) wondering what could be even better than fun? Do you want to know? Do you really really want to know the answer to this? Well, brace yourself, because I’m about to lay it down for you.

She came down here for some totallyawesomelyrighteousseniorsnaps, and that is what is even better than fun. You have to promise me, that you will keep this between you and me, because we don’t need everyone out there knowing such mysteries, or else…uhhh…it wouldn’t be a mystery anymore. Got it? Alright. Back to where I left off.

Miriah entered the FunCenter, and the rest (prepare yourself for a really cheesy cliché), is history! Thank you…thank you very much.

MuchLove to Miriah for coming down and brightening up our day, and to all of you out there wondering if you can swim in a river of butterscotch – Enjoy!

Sarah!

Many times, in my travels throughout the Magic City (why is it that every time I think of that expression I envision wizzards, elves, gnomes, things enchanted and bad 1970’s cartoons?), people will come up to me and say, ‘Otis…tell my how it is that the the peeps that come through the doors of the FunCenter are always so awesome, and why are you dressed like a wizzard?’

I then take off my wizzard hat, and explain to them that there are some things in life that should be unexplained, for example:

  1. Carbonation
  2. Trees
  3. Lint
  4. The Purring of Cats
  5. The Internal Combustion Engine
  6. Planets
  7. The Meaning of Life
  8. The Awesomeosity of FunCenter Peeps

Some things in life are better left unexplained, and instead of trying to figure them out, we should merely enjoy them, and wonder in their sweetness! Which is what we shall do with the one and only Sarah (and, to any other Sara’s out their reading this, I know that there isn’t just one, so please stop with the angry e.mails), as we had the goodgollygreatgoshalmightly pleasure of working with her as she came down to the FunCenter (and yes, I am aware that the wheels have completely fallen off of this sentence, but I shall soldier on) for some supersweetseniorsnaps, and we had an absolutely wonderful time (holy cow, when is this sentence going to get to the point) working with her, and would like to give her MuchLove & ManyThanks for being so awesome!

Without any further delay, and without any more run-on sentences – Enjoy!

Sarah & Ryan!

Now, gather ’round the digital fire that is the blog (I don’t actually recommend setting fire to anything, and most definatley you should not set fire to your computer, unless it happens to spontaneously combust, in which case you should always keep a fire extinguisher nearby, and if the fire is enjoyable, then you should enjoy it, and if the fire gets out of control, you should extinguish it…was that expression used during the OJ case? It seems familiar somehow. Where am I…ahh yes…I remember now!) and prepare ye for a story of a wonderful couple that – for the sake of conversation, well, come to think of it, it will probably be like this after this converstaion is over, but I’m just living in the now and I’ll leave it to all of you to figure out these greater questions – shall be known as Sarah & Ryan!

At some point in their lives, and judging from the looks of their supersweetsamplesnaps (NO PEEKING! Only when I say the magic word can you go!) I would say that it was probably pretty recent, they stopped by the Otis & James Center For The Study of How Many Licks It Will Take To Get To The Center Of A Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop (O&JCFTSOHMLIWTTGTTCOATRTP) for some super awesome E.Pics!

[Being the new year, I will tell you just this one time again that E.Pics are the coolio term for Engagement Pics…now it’s up to you to keep yo køøl factor up and remember this so I won’t have to dork it up any more by using the old lingo…now back to the story]

Once I give the word and you begin to gaze lovingly at their supersweetsamplesnaps, you will see that we had a wonderful time working with this lovely wonderful (hey…there’s a new one, combine my two favorite adjectives and creat a new überadjective to describe them! I tell you what, 2007 is looking good!), and we give them ManyThanks & MuchLove for stopping by and haning wit’ the o&j crüe for a little while! Oh, and for those of you waiting for the magic word – Enjoy!

The Family Spaulding!

Alright. Let’s say you’re in the middle of listening to your favorite techno music (Andrew Wayne…I’m looking square at you). The beat is rocking, your dancing like you’ve never danced before. And then…they break it down a little bit.

You see, every now and then, the music has to come back to earth for a bit to – as the kïdz would say – ‘keep it real’. You gotta get back to the basics, you gotta get to the root of what is good, of what is real, in order to keep balance in the universe…and I know that everyone out there wants a little bit more balance in the universe.

Which brings us to The Family Spaulding, and their recent adventure at the FunCenter for Fun! You see (and I know that I need to get away from starting so many sentences with the expression ‘you see’ – there are many resolutions for the New Year, and this is actually #47, but I’m still working on #3 – so there’s gonna be a few more sentences that start off like this), The Family Spaulding came through the doors of the FunCenter, and they broke it down for us. They kept it real. They got back to the basics. They showed us how it’s done.

And I say to that…dang.

You all you all are good.

We would like to extend the tradtional Otis & James greeting of MuchLove to this lovely family for taking a little bit of their sweet and prescious time and devoting it to all things Center for Fun, and to all of my faithful of the blog that I give dIgItAl HuGz to (OMG…did I just say that?) with every blog entry – Enjoy!

The Family Stockert!

How should we start the first post of the New Year? I say, we shall start it with The Family Stockert! I wish I could tell them that there will be all sorts of prizes, some sort of a plaque, a commemorative edition blog for their home and a slightly used 1989 Ford Aerostar. But, alas, I have none of these things to offer them.

All that I can do is give them some sweetsweetsamplesnaps and the knowledge that when they came down to the FunCenter, they totally and completely rocked it up! We had a wonderful time working with this fabulous group, and our time together was all too fleeting (isn’t that always the case, or at least on 70% of the blog entries for those of you keeping track at home)!

MuchLove to The Family Stockert, and to all of you that were wondering if 2007 was going to be the year that we didn’t put up any new stuff on the blog – Enjoy!
