Tiffany…The Conclusion! (TNSP v.5)

We had a pleasant conclusion to our exciting day here ot O&J Central, as we were paid a visit by another old friend (remember, they’re not old, just old friends) Tiffany!

We had the mission of completing the studio portion of her Senior Portraits, and do just that we did (that was Yoda-esque.) As usual, she was an absolute dream to work with, as were her special guests (Mom and Friend)! We took the studio, dumped it upside down, and spun it around again and got some totally sweet snappy snaps (that’s professional photographic lingo that means ‘photographs’ ((like my use of the single quotation marks!!))). That was a punctuation nightmar.

We thank Tiffany and her posse, or crew, or gang, or whatever you would like to be called for taking the time to visit us this fine evening, and would now like to offer up some of the photographs (or snappy-snaps – whichever) – Enjoy!

Amos & Carly (TNSP v.4)

This afternoon (actually yesterday afternoon, but we haven’t gone home yet, so it’s still this to me) we were visited by our new friends, Amos & Carly! They made the trip to the great city of Minot from our capitol city (is that with an o or an a…anybody?) Bismarck (for those of you that were wondering what the capitol of North Dakota is)!

The reason, engagement photographs. The outcome, totally sweet – engagement photographs with a little flava (again, I’m trying to keep it hip by injecting some slang into the post – does it work…anybody?). As you can tell, this awesome couple came here ready to rock, and rock they did.

We thank them for making the trip up, and look forward to their wedding! Enough of this typing and stuff, let’s move on to the photographs – Enjoy!

Nathan…January Nathan! (TNSP v.3)

This past Wednesday we were paid a visit from a new friend to Otis & James (we can never have enough friends), Nathan! As their are multiple Nathan’s out there in blog land, let’s think of this Nathan as January Nathan – but only think of him on the blog as this, in real life I’m sure that he would just like to be known as Nathan.

We had a great time (actually, it was more of the James & Nathan show as Otis was scampering to and fro most of the time), but James assures me that they did have a great time! Well, I think we need to put our eyes to rest from looking at all of these letters, and we should move on to looking at pretty pictures – Enjoy!

Heather…One More Time! (TNSP v.2)

This past Tuesday we had the great pleasure of working with our old friend (that makes it sound like she’s old, but I promise she is not) Heather!

She came down to the studio for some good old fashioned photo-graphs, and even brought along a special guest star (also known as brother, or for those of you that practice the ancient art of kool, you could say brough-ham!) In addition to this studio rocking, we also visited another old friend – the white bridge! It made us nostalgic for the summer days of many senior portraits. Soon, my friend…soon we will return.

As is her standard practice, she came here and completely and totally rocked it up, and we found out that this art of rocking is genetic as her brother (brough-ham) is also versed in the ways of rocking. Instead of talking about it, let’s just get to the goods – Enjoy!

Partay For Papa (TNSP v.1)!

This past week, it was the birthday of the patriarch of the clan of which Otis descends (the names have been changed to protect the innocent.) So, seeing as how we had all of this space in the studio of O&J, we decided to put some of it to good use and have ourselves a little suprise partay!

So we schemed and planned our get together behind the back of the guest of honor (you can call him Bud if you like), finally finishing off the last bit of painting that was needed in the studio (big thanks to the parents of Fat Al again for helping us out), we got our linens, balloons, cake and pickled herring (nothing goes better than cake and pickled herring – we are good Norwegians, after all) together and made the Otis & James Super Studio into a party zone for this special Saturday!

Not only were we able to suprise the guest of honor with the partay, but we also flew in a son from sunny San Diego CA! Friends and relatives from far and wide descended upon our studio for some good food, and good times in celebration of the father of Otis (no offense to brothers and sisters, but I’ll call him the father of Otis today.)

Fun was had by all, and the party continued well into the evening, even after the guest of honor retired for the night we kept this party rollin’! Well, I’ll quit all of this rambling and move on to a couple of pics from the festivities – but before I do I just want to say thank you to everyone for coming down (especially to Eric for coming so far) and making it a great party, and a great big Happy Birthday and wishes for many more to my Dad – Enjoy!

Thursday Night Super Post (TNSP)

In keeping with the tradition of letting our blog entries build up until the point that they are ready to explode and then we make a giant post of a whole bunch of different things, we come to you – our faithful blogerites and offer you up a slew (or maybe it’s slough – judges say…slough is to cast off, slew is the past of slay, and it also means to turn, veer or skid…judges say use another word, and go back to school – the other word will be) stew (which is a dish with meat and vegetables served with gravy – this too does not seem to be appropriate, but I like it) how about a plethora (for those of you not following along with your dictionary is an excessive quantity of fullness; also a protrusion…now that just doesn’t sound right, but I’m going to stick with it) of posts.

So, strap down and let the good times roll.

Michael!

What can we say about this man (it sounds like I come here today to eulogize him – is that how you spell that?  I’m going to trust myself for the time being and hope that my fact/spelling checker ((I’m looking square at you, Britt)) will correct me if wrong) other than it was totally and completely awesome working with him today!

Michael has been a long time viewer/contributor of comments to the blog, and we feel like we have known him all our lives (or at least since the first shoot of Andrea – which actually occured about six years ago…or something like that), which made the shoot totally and completely sweet.  We thank both Michael and his special assistant/neighbor Amanda (and I may be wrong with that name, because I only asked it about 15 times – and this is after we had spent a semester of class together – let’s hear it for brain cells) for making our time together great!  Enough of all this madness, let’s get to the snappy-snaps – Enjoy!

Milt & Tara!

On this past Monday, Otis & James HQ was made brighter by the addition of Milt, Tara (and a special guest star), the occasion being engagement photographs (and maybe a couple of the special guest star as well!)

Fun was had by all, as we tried to make our photographic time together as painless as possible.  No word yet on whether or not this was achieved, but somebody (that’s you, special guest star), in my opinion, had some good fun!

We thank this happy group for taking the time to come and visit us, and can hardly wait until the wedding!

Erick & Amy!

This past Saturday we got off to a great start, and it was made possible by the addition of our friends Erick & Amy stopping by the studio (with help from Otis & James regular Hope) for a special early morning (10:00 AM is still considered to be early morning, isn’t it?) edition of engagement portraits!

We are going to be working with this dynamic duo in just a few quick months, and judging by their work today it is going to be a blast (if we can control Hope, that is…) 🙂

This wonder-liscous couple set their amps to eleven, and commenced full on rocking. In fact, I’m just going to stop all of my crazy talk and just move on to the snaps from the day – Enjoy!

Gabe & Nina!

This past Wednesday morning (I know…it’s been a few days since we’ve last conversed) we had the great pleasure of meeting up with old friends of Otis & James, none other than Gabe & Nina! Their caravan of good times was rolling through the minot area, and we were lucky enough to be one of the stops they chose to make!

They jumped off the caravan (the metaphorical caravan, I really don’t think they were driving a Dodge Caravan, but I guess that I really don’t know, but they don’t seem like a couple that is at the minivan stage of their relationship – come to think of it, is anybody ever really ready for the minivan stage of a relationship?) and jumped right into the studio, a rip-roarin’ and a ready to go!

They were awesome – totally and completely comfortable in front of the camera (me thinks that Gabe might have had a certain Miss Kitty from Moorhead to thank for that), and it showed in their shots. You know, I’m just going to stop talking about these shots and move on to the goods – Enjoy!
